IMO, this model is the apex of the accord. Excellent use of interior and trunk space, sensible but attractive design, good all around performance from the 150 hp 4. Well equipped and comfortable. Kids are getting too big to fit three across in the back, so need a larger car. only 103k and runs great. Paint bad, clear coat peeled, my only complaint. Expensive to repaint well, stay away from the forest green color. But i think Honda has gone downhill with the accord, making it larger, softer, and less attractive with each new iteration.
What a wonderful combination of comfort and driving enjoyment. Rev the engine, row through the 5 spd, floor it around the exit ramp, and cut through traffic. Love the old Hondas!
Paint peeling, awful testament to Honda's declining quality, this was the tip of the iceberg. Green was bad color in those years. No recall or anything-it's owner fault, of course.
I have the dark green 98 accord sedan with 170k on it and the paint is perfect. Im surprised to hear your paint peeled, dont usually see that on the 98-02 accord model. Then again, i wash mine every week because i live in new england and i dont like to let the calcium chloride sit on the paint for too long, eats at the clear coat.
