Honda Accord (1994-1997) Maintenance and Repair

96 Accord front wheel bearing repair

I have a 1996 Honda Accord EX with approx. 175,000 miles on the car. My left front (driver side) upper wheel bearing is in need of repair as I have been informed. Should I also have the lower wheel bearing repaired at the same time too ? My mechanic mention that MOOG auto parts has a combination upper and lower wheel bearing assemble with the control arm and the bushings ... Read More...

What to expect

Honda Accord Prices Paid and Buying Experience

Re: EX-L Coup with no sunroof [player98]

I understand what you are saying. It is just enough difference to make a difference for me. LX - 39.1" headroom vs EX-L 37.4. That 1.5" makes all the difference between having a little space above my head and being right at the roof line. If the sunroof went "edge to edge" then it would be fine too since I could leave the shade open. This is just one of those things Honda ... Read More...

Honda's Best Model and Year

Re: Honda"s Best model and year [thegraduate]

thegraduate..... I pulled the window sticker out of my file and it's listed as a 1996 Accord 4DR Value Package. It lists among the value package items body colored protective side moldings, body colored collapsible door mirrors, and body colored exterior door handles. I never realized these weren't standard for the DX. It list total vehicle price as $17,390, ... Read More...

Re: 1997 Honda Accord EX cigarette lighter [krishanu]

There is a way to do it. You have to remove the center console to access it. If you search on-line for instructions on how to replace the radio in a 1996 Honda, it's essentially the same steps. It's very easy and should only take 15-20 minutes to do. I have almost no mechanical aptitude and I found it very easy. Read More...

Midsize Sedans 2.0

Re: Best mid sized sedans -1.T.Camry 2.H.Sonata 3.N.Altima 4.F.Fusion [deltheking]

You are contradicting yourself- calling the Camry/Sonata mushy ,dull.I have driven all makes and no,it is not dull or mushy.Their engines are as powerful as Honda/Nissan. What does mushy have to do with how the engine performs? I am referring to car handling, which in the Camry especially, is languid compared to the likes of Honda and Mazda. I said nothing of ... Hi All, I am having the same problem. 1994 Honda accord EX 4cycl. Since it's pre-1996 Autozone won't scan it (OBDI not OBDII) but it is the same problem, once it warms up. Re: 2009 honda accord 4 cylinder [st1300]

Wow, I've heard so much about this that it is good to finally see the severity that you're talking about. I'll be really honest here... that doesn't strike me as much of an issue. I can't recall driving a vehicle (except a family friend's Silverado 2500 Duramax Diesel) that didn't do that, including both my 1996 Accord and 2006 Accord, as well as my grandmother's ... Honda Accord (2008-) Maintenance and Repair

Re: Oil Consumption Update [dpmeersman]

I bought a 1996 Honda Accord and I bought it new and it never used oil. I ended up getting into an accident so I then bought a used 1994 EX-L. I had that car for about 6 years and when I traded it in it had about 170k and it did not use any oil. Although, I do change my oil about every 4k miles and both my Honda's were 4 cyl. Read More...
