Re: MPG PLEASE [holew]
Here ya go buddy... my last tanks: Both Accords share the same commute - 20 miles 70 MPH interstate, 15 miles urban driving in Birmingham, AL (downtown driving, stop and go, red lights). I'm a pretty easy driver, but have no problem gunning it to merge in a hole or get the lead on someone whose lane I need to be in. Throw in a trip around the beltway (I-459) at 50 miles ... Re: Ugly and expensive [rlyon]
$30k for an Accord is silly. This is one of the most ridiculous arguments. First, why give the car a truck grill? The grill absolutely kills the front end. What truck grill? First of all, there is no car or truck grill. As a matter of fact, almost 8-10 years ago, one of my points in these boards was that Honda should adopt a grill that helps establish a family theme. ... Re: 190 HP versions [gotoyota]
I have had a fair amount of experience in Hondas with VTEC engines and they all seem to feel a bit peaky to me. Honestly gotoyota, you aren't the only one. Here are the three cars I drive routinely within a week: 1996 Accord LX, 130hp/139lb-ft, 4-speed Auto, Non-Vtec, 176k mi 2002 Accord LX, 150hp/152lb-ft, 4-speed Auto, Vtec, 90k mi 2006 Accord EX, 166hp/160lb-ft, ... 2008 Honda Accord vs 2008 Toyota Camry vs 2008 Nissan Altima (V6 Models)
I have been watching the introduction of newer styled models of the Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, and the Honda Accord for 2008. For those out there with indepth knowledge - Which of these cars are the best $$$ for reliability, cost of ownership, and overall value. I have been driving a 1996 Toyota Corolla that has been great for me over the years! I have racked up ... Read More...

Re: Ignition Lockup [cnh]
cnh, Your above message responded to a July 3, 2006 message regarding a 2006 Accord built a full decade after your 1996 vehicle was built. You might find a better response in the Honda Accord (1994-1997) Maintenance and Repair forum here: http://townhall-talk.edmunds.com/WebX/.efdf920/974!make=Honda&model=Accord&ed_ma- - - - - keindex=.efdf920 Read More...
Re: 2008 Camry LE or 2008 Honda LX-p [bug4]
The Camry looks like a clown with a big nose and the Accord looks like . . well . . like every other car on the road. I strongly dislike the cheap-looking black, plastic fins on the Accord's front grill. The Camry's painted grill is much better executed. I think Honda does a great job with their chrome assents. The less paint on the front end, the less available space ... Read More...
Re: What so special about these "top rated" cars? [venus537]
Perhaps, but only because they (Nissan) had a lot of room for improvement. Nissans interiors were never pitiful. GM owned that category. They were average. Now IMO the Altima has surpassed the Camry inside. When it comes to interior fit and finish it still comes down to VW, then Honda and then the rest Yes, and both have gotten worse with the current generation ... Read More...

Re: 1997 EX Sedan-Need Keyless Entry System [forgop]
Do a search on the internet (i.e. e-Bay.com, etc.). I love my 1996 Honda Accord. Had an inital problem with a CEL but that has been resolved for months. I put a new exhaust syatem in and front axles and the car is running like new! I paid $1700.00 and put $800 into it. I think it was well worth it. Good Luck! :D Read More...

Re: looks [colloquor]
If things are put in the right order, then I think this discussion about look-alikes makes sense. So, let me ask you, what connotations of 5-series do you see in the Accord that you havent in any Honda/Acura in the past? As for Saturn L, let us take your word and park them side by side. There are few design elements in common, the creases and the upward tapering of the ... Read More...
Re: '07 vs '08 [colloquor]
I think the definition of Korean copy is more along the lines of copying the look. For example, take the new Elantra. Do you see a strong resemblance to VW Jettas rear? Or, is that style somehow an evolution of older Hyundai design? In case of new Accord, the association is largely with two design elements. One the upward tapering of the tail lamps, but that is a contemporary ... Read More...
