It's almost a guarantee it's stalling because of a lack of fuel pressure. Why? When the car is cold the computer deliberately makes the mixture rich; when it warms up it leans out the mixture. If it will idle forever, then there is adequate fuel flow to the injectors - AT IDLE. When you put demands on the fuel supply system however (warm=lean mixture; accelerate from stop=rush of fuel needed), the ... Read More
Hello, My wife recently bought a used 1995 Honda Accord with a 2.2L (non Vtech). It is Automatic and had several problems when she purchased it. First off the speedometer wouldn't work (it was unplugged from the sensor). The second thing was that it was loosing coolant (water pump- I changed it and replaced the timing belt and such). The main problem it is having, that I can't figure out for ... Read More
I have a 1995 Honda Accord EX Sedan 4 Speed Automatic Transmission. Its VIN indicates that it was made in Japan. It has over 220,000 miles on it. Drives beautifully, till now! The desire to sweep defects & problems under the rug is NOT unique to Honda. This behavior is used by most other Asian auto makers and even some US automakers. I can't say how the europeans handle it, as I've never owned a european car. I had a real bad experience with a new Toyota Tacoma pickup in 1995. After multiple trips to the dealer with NO fixes to multiple problems, ... Read More
Reputation may be the problem, or maybe it is just that people don't value sportiness. I don't know. One of the reasons I blame reviewers is because the opinion of the more professional reviewers didn't match my own experiences. My personal opinion is that Honda executives have been drinking the same Kool-Aid for the last 4-5 years that Toyota executives have been drinking since 1995 (the year Toyota began "de-contenting" their vehicles). Cost-cutting seems to be more important to Honda than the public's opinion of their cars. I think the 2007 Accord was the pinnacle for the Accord, and both quality & features have been going steadily downhill since then. ... Read More

If the speedometer bounces around 19 / 20 mph the speedometer head is bad. If your cruise control works (maintains speed) the vehicle speed sensor (VSS) is good. Don't let anyone tell you it is bad. Honda calls the complete assembly a COMBINATION METER. You can find Honda information here. http://hondatech.info/downloads/Auto/Manuals/Accord/ ;) Been there done that.

As far as i know, the accord has been manufactured in Honda's ohio plant since 1995. Accord was first Japanese car to be manufactured in the USA, going back to 1982(?). Most Accords have been domestically manufactured since, with supplemental production in Japan.
As far as i know, the accord has been manufactured in Honda's ohio plant since 1995. I know because my car has Honda's ohio seal on it(right when you open the hood) so i dont see any reason to stop that tradition. Remember, the accord is built in two factories; one in ohio and one in japan. -Cj

I've always heard similar things about that car (the Contour, anyways). Based on what I've read (I've never driven one), the Contour offered dynamics similar to the Fusion, which is a good thing if you actually ENJOY driving :). A 5-speed manual with ABS and traction control is a big deal to find on a 4-cylinder car NOW, much less 1995. What a find!
I really liked the ride and handling on the Mystake. Also it was a 5-speed stick with ABS and traction control, a very rare combination on a moderately-priced I4 car in 1995. But it was in the shop many times for various glitches and recalls. And the residual was ridiculous. So I didn't buy it after the 2-year lease ran out.
I agree 99.99% I dont agree with the 230hp thing as HP isn't a very important number because most companies record it at an unusable range. TORQUE is that all important number! Thats why so many people are beginning to switch to diesels. The m5 has 500hp but the E320CDI has 400lb ft of torque and gets 35mpg.
