I had a 93 with automatic and several years ago there was a slow leak under the transmission. At least 2 mechanics wanted to replace the transmission lines, which included the radiator. Finally, went to the guy who is my current mechanic and he suggested replacing the rubber (probably synthetic) tube connections as they might be 'weaping'. He did. No problem since. I would contact the Attorney General's office or the Consumer Affairs office for your state. They may have specific laws in place that criminalize fraudulent auto repair practices. They may also have investigators to look into your complaint. It sounds like you really were defrauded. Well the dealer could easily perform a cooling system pressure test to determine if the head gasket is bad---you don't have to "guess" about a head gasket. I presume you made a type and you meant that you were charged $160, not $1600 for an AIC valve? The D4 light blinking is a trouble code indicator for a transmission fault. Similar to the Check Engine light. The number of blinks is the fault code. I have a 1993 Honda Accord LX. I am having a problem with shifting the gears. Regardless if I go from Park to Drive or Reverse, there is a hard shift (you feel it like someone thumping you). My suggestion would be to look up the parts you need at one of the 2 bigger muffler manufacturers. www.maremont.com or www.walkerexhaust.com Both will have online catalogs showing the parts you need. In case anyone is interested, we did find the solution: My mechanic couldn't figure out why what he had done had not fixed the problem, so he retraced his steps. With a car of this mileage, especially one that has been overheating recently, the mechanic should have immediately tested for a bad head gasket before chasing other issues. If the heater was working, the thermostat was working; if the fans were working, then no need to fix them at this point. Your mechanic has replaced a ton of things and not solved your problem. Before I spent any more money on this problem, I would ask him if he bled the cooling system (most cars do not have the two bleeders that those Accords have) - if he is not used to working on Accords, then he might not normally do it. Some 1990-1993 Honda Accords are known to have this problem. I had a problem with the driver side door not opening and took it to a Honda Dealer, he drilled out the lock and put in a new one. The labor cost was a killer and cost me $400+.

My local mechanic says bad AT Control Unit 28100-pxo-732 3ex caused the transmission to go bad. Does anyone know if I can have the AT Control (computer) Unit rebuilt? Your logic make sense. I opened the hood today and spent sometime looking into the connections. I saw the wire that connects the starter to the battery really loose. So I cliped it firmly. I will see if this will fix the problem...if not, I will try other possibilities.

Unlikely the starter, remotely possible, but I doubt it. The only thing you are doing when 'jumping' the vehicle, is connecting up a known battery of working voltage to your battery. If the starter had a problem, which battery is connected doesn't matter. Since you know you have a good battery and alternator, the next thing to eliminate is whether something is draining down your battery. If you have a charged ... Read More

In addition to the previous advise, check your battery cables. A faulty battery cable will often (typically in my experience) exhibit the same symptoms as a weak battery during the start cycle, sometimes even requiring a jump start, but won't necessarily have an obvious noticeable effect on the car's charging / electrical system once it is running. Did you have autozone load test your old alternator and battery before buying a new battery? Most autochains will do that for free. Since your car starts when jumped, that usually means your battery is discharged. 'WHY' it is discharged, is the real question. steering column vibration
I have a 1993 honda accord and when it gets warmed up and settles down to a decent idle (around 1000 on the tach) the steering columns vibrates something fierce. I have a suspicion the motor mounts are completely shot. When I give the car any gas the vibrations go away. Any ideas?

The transmission computer is one thing I know is different between the 90 & 93 models. The 90 had the sport-shift mode, and blinked trouble codes at the computer, and the 93 uses the D4 light on the dash to blink codes, and has no sport-shift mode. I have a 90 and a 93 honda accord. each with problems that the other seems to not have.is it possible to just simply put them together without real problems? like the 93 transmission put into the 90 and struts switched and stuff like that. will it work??

I am just guessing here, but could it be the clutch position switch. The starter will not work without the clutch pedal pushed down, so I suspect the switch was knocked out of alignment while working on the clutch. I'm not a mechanic, but this was my thought as well.

Not sure where the switch is, but I would look under the dash near the clutch pedal arm. Good luck.

i just changed my clucth and i put everything back together and now my starter is not starting the car what could it be i changed the sylniod for the starter but its still doing it

1993 Honda Accord LX Fuel Filter Replacement
Do you have any pictures for steps on how to replace the fuel filter? I know it is under the vacuum device and you have to unscrew the two bolts, but after that, I am not very keen on what to do.

Would suspect the moving pieces, before wiring. Relay, or headlight switch. Since you are able to tap on the relay and fix the problem, that would be a very good indicator of where the problem most likely is. Go get a new relay.

Remove the 7.5 amp fuse in the under hood fuse box labeled radio or battery/backup for 10 seconds. I think it is the only 7.5 amp fuse in the under hood box. PS: If you don't have the code for the factory radio, I would not remove that fuse. I think you would be fine without having to do that anyway. As long as you do not turn the ignition on ... I would just do the IACV for now. Just do like the link shows. No need to disconnect the battery, just the wire to the valve. Be careful with the gasket, or to be on the safe side buy a new one for the valve.
