I'm feeling nostalgic and am thinking of buying a decent 1992-93 Accord LX or EX and having it restored from the frame up, inside and out, to like-new condition. Bleeding is much easier with a vacume pump. Two other advantages of the vacume pump are you don't need another person, and the old fashioned way causes many master cylinders to fail. When the brake pedal goes to the floor, the rod is pushed much further than it usually goes, so if there is any corrosion on the shaft, it tears up the seals. This is the Honda recommended sequence.

If the engine is not smoking (a lot), it has to be going somewhere. Is your coolant getting dark? Check the lower timing cover. If you blew a seal in there it will create problems with the timing belt in the near future.
