We are not Just an "Internet" Company!

Sure, our corporate name ends in ".com" and we do operate the world's first automotive Web site. But our company was founded, as Edmund Publishing Corp., 19 years before our Web site was launched! In recognition of the fact that most consumers now turn first to the Internet for automotive information, we changed our name to Edmunds.com, Inc. in 1999.

We are first and foremost a consumer automotive information company, and we distribute our information in whatever media best serves the needs of consumers. First, of course, came our books. Just prior to the popularization of the Internet, we also distributed our data on CD-ROMs. Now we distribute our content not only through this Web site (and through many other Web sites that syndicate portions of our content), but also through Internet-enabled cell phones, wireless PDAs, and through content syndication to print media, and our videos are now avaialable on ITunes. We are committed to being wherever consumers are looking for automotive information.

We are also a Data Company!

The Edmunds Information Solutions division of Edmunds.com is a primary, first-tier supplier of automotive data. Edmunds Information Solutions sources, organizes, compiles and delivers all of the vehicle information you see on the Edmunds Web Sites. And that data is so good that we license it (together with our editorial content) to many other companies. Because we source and compile the data ourselves, we can assure you that it is as accurate, timely and complete as you will find anywhere.

Very few other automotive Web sites have committed the time and resources that we have committed to Edmunds Information Solutions, so most other sites must license their data from other sources — sometimes from us!

We Hear You. We Talk Back. And You Talk to Each Other.

Unlike many other automotive Web sites, we value your input and your questions. We receive hundreds of e-mails each week. Every single one of them is read and evaluated by our Customer Service Department, and we answer as many of them as we can.

Our Letters to the Editors column features a selection of comments and suggestions we receive each month, while our Success Stories lets us and our visitors know how we have served you.

Edmunds.com, Inc. has been operated under the direction of the Steinlauf family since 1988. We are and always have been independent: none of the companies promoted or whose products are reviewed on our Web site own any interest in the company or have any say in how or what we publish. Our advice and judgments are unbiased, and our editors are committed to "telling it like it is."

While we have business relationships with many other companies, we were founded to empower consumers, and we will always regard consumers as our first and most important constituency.
