GMC Yukon Denali Driver Door Controls
I have been experiencing intermitant (though more off than on) problems with the driver door controls for lock/unlock, windows, heated seat, power mirrors (basically all), on my 2005 Yukon Denali XL. It has approx 60,000 miles, and this just starting happening. I figured it's not a fuse, since it sometimes works. But, maybe I'm wrong. Has anyone else had this ... Read More...
Another GMC Yukon 2005 Speedometer issue.
My wife just called me and she said that her yukon's (yukon xl 2005) is stuck at 120 MPH. The odometer is still updating and appeared to be working. Any news if this issue is now a bonafide recall? Thanks.. Read More...
GMC Yukon XL and Yukon XL Denali
Re: Rear Power Outlet 2005 Yukon XL and my ???] [fixitrod] [glynette]
Contacted GMC and they responded very favorably and had me go to the dealer of my choice. They replaced the instrument cluster. Funny thing is this particuler dealer tried to get a $100.00 "deductible" from me which I refused to pay reminding them that this has been taken care of for free. Jeez...I had originally put the ball in their court reminding them that they ... Read More...
GMC Yukon and Yukon Denali Problems
Re: 2007 Yukon Denali [snake3]
I cannot believe the messages I am reading. I had my 2007 Denali XL for one day and took it back and said, give me my 2005 back and I will buy a car from you.(They wouldn't do that) I have had 5 GMCs that I have loved and I knew that this one was WAY off immediately. I have a horse trailer. The new Denali has the hitch SEVEN inches higher than the old ones. I have spent 900+ to ... Read More...
Squeaky brakes 2001 GMC Yukon XL
Re: 2005 GMC Yukon XL Squeaky Brakes [bryang22]
Glazing on a rotor is a normal thing, each time we use our brakes will cause the rotor to glaze; certain type of brake pads will cause the rotor to glaze sooner than others... Using the "lock the brakes up" method is only a short term patch, and it sounded to me is not something I would want to do (What was this service adviser thinking!!). It is my opinion, the proper ... Re: 2005 GMC Yukon XL Squeaky Brakes [brianlittke]
I finally found a solution to this problem. I was told by a service advisor at a local GMC Dealer to go about 40 MPH on an empty street and lock the brakes up. The ABS will activate and it will knock the glazing off the rotors. I did this and got the car up to about 45 and stood on the brake peddle. The ABS kicked in. I did it one more time and the brakes didn't made a noise for ... Read More...
Re: 2005 GMC Yukon XL Squeaky Brakes [bryang22]
I have had the exact experience with my '05 XL. Dealer says this is normal. I disagree. It is a shame that GM says that is OK. Not surprising they are losing more of the market everyday. The last time I took it in, they said there was about 80% life left on the pads. If I knew that replacing the pads with another brand would help, I would. I am afraid that it won't make a differnece. 2005 GMC Yukon XL/ Chevy Suburban Consumer Reports Review
Re: 2005 GMC Yukon XL/ Chevy Suburban Consumer Reports Review [ahightower]
I also had the steering column fixed at about 22K miles. Rear liftgate handle snapped off at about the same time (both warranty repairs). Other than that no problems. I just found out mine was one of the few 1500 SLT, 4WD, models sold without Stabilitrak (ESC). Figures that GM would sticker a vehicle at $48K and forget a key safety feature. Fuel economy for the life ... Read More...
Re: 2005 GMC Yukon XL/ Chevy Suburban Consumer Reports Review [tonsgeorgia]
That's interesting. Was any more specific info provided? I have the same thing, a 2005 pruchased late that year for a song. If they're referring to Auto Ride and/or 4WD/AWD stuff, neither of those apply to mine. I did have a front suspension cross member replaced under warranty when I took it in a few months ago (about 33K miles) for the intermediate steering column ... Read More...
2005 GMC Yukon XL/ Chevy Suburban Consumer Reports Review
The new Consumer Reports just came out and my 2005 Yukon XL/ Chevy Suburban dropped significantly to "well below average" for: 1) Suspension 2) Drive System I bought mine at a Red Tag Sales 12/05 so I am several months behind everyone else who has seen these problems. Any insights into what is wrong in these areas? Read More...
