Denali Yukon Traction Active Readout on Display

Re: response to misionnortena [denaligirl]

Your wheel speed sensors need to be cleaned. It is a pretty simple repair by the dealer but time consuming. The dealers don't seem to like making the repair though. I found out It was a recall on some of the vehicles but not the Yukon. It costs about $500. I paid for the repair and then wrote a complaint letter to my dealer. The service mgr at the dealer was able to get the ... Read More...

GMC Yukon and Yukon Denali Problems

Re: Popping in steering column [ma2sk]

I think the loud popping sound has to do with the Intermediate Shaft (or I-Shaft), it can be heard as well as felt (if I am not mistaken) in the steering wheel and/or the steering column area. Hope I am still on track to what you have experienced so far. If yes, you may verify and consider the possibility of replacing the Upper I-Shaft Assembly (Bulletin #00-02-35-003M), ... Read More...

Re: 2003 yukon slt [darryl08]

Well, that's one problem we haven't had. I better knock on wood because we bought a 02 XL used last year and have put 2000+ into it. We have the piston slap problem and it uses a quart of oil in 1,000 miles, replace the camshaft sensor, crankshaft sensor, oil pump and put on new brake pads. There were a couple of other things too that I can't recall right now. I love the ... Read More...

Re: Turn Signal Issue, 2000 Denali early vin # [dvs]

I think the fast flash is the vehicle's signal to you that you have a blown bulb. From racermd's post on the GMC Yukon XL / Yukon XL Denali forum: If you go this route on the turn signals, you'll need to make sure you get a "load balancer" - a resistor that tricks the signal switch into thinking you don't have a blown bulb (LEDs pull less current than an incandecent bulb, ... reply to integrity

integrity: when you say the Yukon "felt tighter and better handling", I presume you mean compared to your 2000 model? As beach15 noted, the Yukon XL and Suburban are identical mechanically and so they will feel exactly the same. There are minor cosmetic differences on the outside (grille, headlights, front bumpers), identical interiors, and slight differences ... Read More...
