Last November (2012) I purchased a used 2009 Denali 6.2 with 39,000 miles from a Cincinnati GMC dealer. I now have 44000 miles on it and below this is what I have had to have fixed. I can not hardly believe it to be normal for these items due to age and mileage of car and the only thing the dealer here can say is that it is a higher end ... Read More
Sarah, I have a 2009 GMC Yukon Denali. This is my third GMC vehicle. I paid $52,000 for this car. My last two GMC vehicles had door lock problems after they were about 10 years old; i could understand this. However my Yukon began having door lock problems after only TWO years of ownership and at about 35,000 miles. Heat made the door locks worse. In the winter they'd mysteriously begin ... Read More

Hi, I have a 2009 GMC Yukon Denali with 40,000 miles on it. I will be driving, when all of a sudden the radio turns off for a split second, then the airbag light comes on, followed by the traction control light and engine shifts out of gear and takes me down to zero RPM's. It was doing it randomly for the past couple weeks, only for a split second, but ... Read More

Well, another one fooled by GM! Just bought a 2008 Denali and the passenger door and rear door locks do not work. It has only 39000 miles! I traded in my 2002 Tahoe and I feel like I made a mistake! The tax payers of this country bail you out and you shovel crappy goods at us! If this issue is not resolved for free by my dealer, I may be ... Read More

Here's another "pearl of GM wisdom", you have to buy the whole locking mechanism, not just the actuator so the part is around 3 bills instead of 30-40 dollars for the actuator on a site like advancedautoparts.com. If you're handy and can take the door apart I'd recommend going that route. In fact I'm pretty sure the parts from Dorman carry a lifetime warranty. Only one you cannot do yourself is ... Read More
Sadly I wouldn't hold your breath on any recall. I've been told numerous times from the dealer, and the 1-800 customer service number that since it isn't a "safety issue" no recall is warranted. You'd think GM would want to do the right thing but since they use the same garbage actuators across their product lines basically every GM vehicle needs a recall. Nice. Take a look at the Chevy Malibu ... Read More
Christina, I too am having this problem with my 2009 Tahoe, this seems to be an issue, is GM planning to address this issue with a recall? Overall, I have been pleased with the vehicle (other than the paint peeling from ... Read More
We have a 2009 Suburban LT and 3 out of 4 actuators failed and we have 58k miles. We contacted GM and set up a case and then spent $99 for a diagnosis. Then after a few weeks were told that we are out of waranty. So obviously I knew when we started we were out of warranty so GM basically screwed us out of $99. I then contacted one of ... Read More

Add yet another 2009 Yukon to the list of failed lock actuators. Mine is a Hybrid with 53,000 miles. Hello Fish39, I apologize that you are experiencing and issue with your vehicle. Have you talked to your dealer about the problem that you are having with your nav system? Thank you, Mariah GM Customer Service
Initially, the nav system will show my vehicle on the map correctly. once i enter a destination it will plot the route accurately. when i hit go, the route guidance says it will begin when i reach the highlighted route. this however, never happens and the vehicle will not move on the map to adjust to my current location. any thoughts? thanks for any help.
According to #01-06-01-011F: Information on Engine Oil Consumption Guidelines (Jan13,2009) - the GM accepted rate of oil consumption for engines in cars and trucks (less than 8500 LB GVW) is one quart per 2000 miles. There are exeptions for non-agressive driving, towing, high RPMs, maintenance.... 2 quarts in 600-700 miles, I thought, would be a no-brainer qualification for a drastic fix for my suburban. Massive if you think about it. If ... Read More
