This happened to me this weekend. (12-31-11) I went to Manchester Vt for New Years and went to start truck, ran ruff and bucked. I stopped and let it sit for a few minutes tben drove and did same. Now i did have it in all wheel drive. Anyway, i drove into Manchester and there was a gmc dealer and i explained what happened and She said "sounds like a throttle ... Read More
GM Customer Service, I am new to these forms...my first post. Good to see you folks are monitoring these posts and providing responses. My wife and I purchased a used 2008 Suburban LT 1500 4x4, 50K miles this past August. Oil change alert hit 15% life remaining this week and the change oil enunciator indicated it was time to take the vehicle in for oil/filter change. This AM (cold northern Virginia) ... Read More

Battery died twice without explanation-once while getting gas and once after sitting in garage overnight. Took battery to O'Reilly's and it tested fine. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I don't want my wife and 4 kids stranded somewhere.
I have a 2009 Tahoe LTZ with black leather bucket seats. I'm looking at a 2008 GMC Yukon black leather bench seat to buy and swap out in the 2nd row. Any one know if these will fit and where do I bring the seats to swap? Dealer? Body shop? Thanks!
Add one more to the list with door lock actuator problems. Had Passenger rear door actuator replaced a year ago under warrantee and now, 1000 miles past the 36,000 mile warrantee the driver rear door has failed. This is a major pain as I use this truck for work and need in and out of the driver rear door all the time for items I carry back there. no easy way ... Read More
I have a 2008 Yukon Hybrid and had the first lock replaced under warranty just past the 35,000 mile mark. I now have 42,200 miles and the dealership just called to say they'd be replacing the second failed lock under warranty. I did open a file with GMC Customer Service and notified the dealership of my file number before I took it in for service. Based on what others are saying ... Read More
Christina, I too am experiencing the same issues with door lock actuators (two in this case - drivers door, passenger side rear door). I also have a door handle that is coming out of the door (drivers side rear door, normal use). The vehicle is a 2008 GMC Yukon XL Denali. I cannot believe all I am reading here about GMC door lock issues. This is not the only site and forum going on regarding this issue. And with the whole issue being totally a safety concern GMC needs to step up to the plate and take ownership of this. $300.00 a door to fix and how long do they think these new ones are going to last, another 30,000 or 40,000 ... I recently purchased a 2008 Yukon with 18,xxx miles on it. Within the past week both rear door locks are not working and it seems like the front is going to go out as well. I took it to a GMC dealer and they told me that they have seen a lot of these problems but since it's 2 months out of warranty it is fully my responsibility. My fault for ... Read More
I have 2 GM products and the company I own has 4. My 2008 Yukon has three power door lock actuators out and the dealer told me that they have replaced hundreds and that since I was out of warranty (39000miles) I would have to pay. The most insulting part was calling GM help line and they had never heard of any problems with the power door lock actuator! The best ... Read More
I have a 2008 Yukon with electrical issues. At random times we will come back to the vehicle being totally dead. No lights, locks, key fob doesn't work and no reaction at all when key is in the ignition. Then, after a while the car will "magically" start and everything works fine. Have had battery replaced, door handle replaced, mega fuse replaced and nothing has worked to this point. GMC can't ... Read More
Hubby decided the Expo was too old and gave it away as a trade in for a 2008 Yukon. Beautiful SUV when it works! We have only had it a month, it has been in the shop at least four times already. The car just shuts down! I mean the whole thing: it will not crank, the doors will not open, everything locks up. First the power locks would not work, ... Read More
I am the product of a GM family. My ENTIRE family has worked or is working (thank goodness) for GM. I married into a Ford family. I am losing my mind....my beloved YUKON is nothing but torture for me. I am tired of defending my love for GM products. GM is not giving me any ammunition to fight with. I'm in Ohio. I ended up leasing the 2011 Denali. With my trade (2008 Toyota Highlander Sport - which the lease was up and I was a few miles over on my lease plus I would've had to pay the disposition fee) and I went up to $3,000 down. So figure $3,800 in trade equity plus $3,000 down and I am at $607/mo and that includes tax! Good Luck!
I have captains chairs for my Yukon. we have a total of 7 in our family. I need to find out if it is possible to find a bench seat for the second or third rows of this vehicle. Anyone have any suggestions?
I don't agree with your response. When you purchase a vehicle, a GM product for example, you purchase based on reputation and research. I own a 2008 Tahoe, which has had numerous issues from the start. Why did I choose this vehicle? I also own a 2000 GMC Sierra, which now has 165,000 miles on it and still runs like a tank. I purchased my Tahoe based on my good experience ... Read More
According to #01-06-01-011F: Information on Engine Oil Consumption Guidelines (Jan13,2009) - the GM accepted rate of oil consumption for engines in cars and trucks (less than 8500 LB GVW) is one quart per 2000 miles. There are exeptions for non-agressive driving, towing, high RPMs, maintenance.... 2 quarts in 600-700 miles, I thought, would be a no-brainer qualification for a drastic fix for my suburban. Massive if you think about it. If ... Read More
If it makes you feel better, I have a GM Certified 2008 Suburban LTZ that has the same problem at 34K miles. Today, the oil consumption test shows 2 quarts lost in 600 miles and is back to a rough idle. Dealer says they ... Read More
We have an '07 Yukon XL that is using 2-3 quarts of oil every 3K miles. Our local service tech states 1 quart per 1500 miles is normal. Hi aonic. I see that you are considering making a $3,000 down payment on the truck that you want to lease. I always advise community members against making large down payments on leases.
