I too have had the dreaded and terrifying "Reduced Engine Power"/"Service Stabilitrack" error. I have a 2007 GMC Yukon XL. It eats oil for breakfast and shuts down randomly. I have a TPS wiring harness on order and will be in tomorrow (12-3-13). I have been told by a GM Dealership that I have to have a computer to reset after switching out the wiring harness. After 40,000 miles and ongoing fixes (4) as well as ongoing oil consumption test, GM finally replaced our engine!!
I completely agree, it is so frusterating!! Especially when you look at how much money we spend on that GM brand! Its sickening... I have a 2007 Yukon and this is the exact same thing that happened to me in November of 2011. I took it to the dealership and found out that a small band inside of the engine had popped. I spent $5000 to get it fixed. Once it was fixed I have had no issues. Good luck!
I bought my new, it had less than 200 miles on it. 2007 Yukon XL. GMC/Chevy won't do anything. I am not sure that I would even trust them at this point to fix the numerous problems with my truck. You're not alone on this. I made the fatal mistake to try again with GMC. We first bought a 2002 GMC XL Denali. At about 56,000 miles the transmission dropped. Not sure what the scope of GMC's participation is, but you could try the BBB Auto Line. Or try your local consumer protection agency or lemon lawyer. It's nice that GM went to bat for you when you took this problem to the dealer a month after the warranty expired but it doesn't sound like they fixed it. $3,000 would go a long way toward getting a crate engine installed.

I too have a 2007 Yukon with an oil consumption problem that GMC is not taking serious. Only have 55,000 miles on it. It began about 40,000 miles. Oil consumption test has been done and all they will tell me is it is acceptable based on GM oil consumption standards to have to add a quart of oil to it every 1000 to 1500 miles. Old vehicle traded in was the 2007 Yukon XL (premium suspension - not autoride equipped). New vehicle 2010 Yukon XL Denali w/autoride suspension. Standard 20" factory rims/tires on vehicle. Have ... Read More

Wow. I was just about to purchase a 2007 Yukon XL SLT with 38,000 miles on it. After reading all of these posts, I am going to pass :(. Has anyone narrowed down the mfg. dates of the defective engines? Are there any of the 2007 Yukon XL 's that don't use oil? As far as a spec. for a vehicle to use oil, what a joke. I have a 2004 ...
