It seems like this is a major issue with the transmission. I have just had the second one go out. Had the first one replaced at the local GMC dealer here in Montgomery, Alabama at 600 miles "outside of the original warranty", my cost $3500. Now, Tuesday this week, November 29, 2001 at 160k, vehicle won't move. Was working just fine, parked, went to leave, no reverse, no forward gear, nothing. ... Read More
Ok I read through this thread and I have a few questions for everyone that is involved in it. The first one is "Why do engines have a dipstick?" The second one is, "Why did GM decide to add an oil level monitoring system that would alert you when your oil level needed checked?" The third question is when you fail to use the distick routinely and you fail to understand/recognize ... Read More
notnormal Can you please send me your case number? Have you had an oil consumption test performed at the dealer? "The accepted rate of oil consumption for engines used in the vehicles referenced is 0.946 liter (1 qt) in 3200 km (2000 mi)." " Important: This rate only applies to personal use vehicles, under warranty, that are driven in a non-aggressive manner and maintained in accordance with the appropriate maintenance schedule, ... According to #01-06-01-011F: Information on Engine Oil Consumption Guidelines (Jan13,2009) - the GM accepted rate of oil consumption for engines in cars and trucks (less than 8500 LB GVW) is one quart per 2000 miles. There are exeptions for non-agressive driving, towing, high RPMs, maintenance.... 2 quarts in 600-700 miles, I thought, would be a no-brainer qualification for a drastic fix for my suburban. Massive if you think about it. If ... Read More
Yes, Yes. I had a door handle replaced on my 2007 GMC Yukon Denali XL on Monday. Saturday the car was dead and the speakers too. It would continue to die if let set for several hours. My guess is there was a drain on the battery. So I took it to GM thinking the work on the door shorted something out. They didn't find the problem but suggested trying to ... Read More
Your wheel speed sensors need to be cleaned. It is a pretty simple repair by the dealer but time consuming. The dealers don't seem to like making the repair though. I found out It was a recall on some of the vehicles but not the Yukon. It costs about $500. I paid for the repair and then wrote a complaint letter to my dealer. The service mgr at the dealer was ... I think the loud popping sound has to do with the Intermediate Shaft (or I-Shaft), it can be heard as well as felt (if I am not mistaken) in the steering wheel and/or the steering column area. If yes, you may verify and consider the possibility of replacing the Upper I-Shaft Assembly (Bulletin #00-02-35-003M), where I recall quite ... Read More

I think the fast flash is the vehicle's signal to you that you have a blown bulb. From racermd's post on the GMC Yukon XL / Yukon XL Denali forum: If you go this route on the turn signals, you'll need to make sure you get a "load balancer" - a resistor that tricks the signal switch into thinking you don't have a blown bulb (LEDs pull less current than an ...
