Every time the outside temperature is above 75 and the humidity is up, the truck runs very rough. Sometimes, when I put it in gear and press the pedal, it won't move. Just sits there and sputters. When it does run, enough to get me home, I can floor the pedal and it will just sputter and pop and slow down to a crawl until I let off the pedal and ... Read More

I have a 2002 GMC Sonoma 4X4 crew cab and get the same code (0300) when I drive at 60 on the highway. I have no hesitation at any speed and the truck runs great. Do you think the crank sensor could be the problem? I have replaced the plugs, wires, rotor. cap, distributor, fuel filter, pvc.
Situation, while driving the security light will come on, the fuel gauge will move to empty and the battery light will come on. This occurs randomly. after a while the gas gauge and battery light will go back to normal, but the security light will stay on for a while then go off. Also it will not start all the time, gmc nor mechanic cannot determine why. Last check there where ... Read More
99 GMC Sonoma 4.3L V-6 Obviously your PCM is detecting misfires but cannot isolate a perticular problem. On your model it is usally a dirty or bad connection at the crank sensor, or an intermittant problem with fuel pressure. Here is an explanation. The PCM interprets irractic changes in the pulses coming from the crank sensor as misfires. Basically, your vehicle skips a beat due to any number of reasons and ... Read More
I just bought a 99 GMC Sonoma 4.3L V-6. Experienced check light coming on/off over several weeks, hesitation during start up and while driving and fuel mileage is in the toilet (15-16mpg on average). Code came up P0300 "random multiple missfire". I changed plugs, wires, cap, rotor, fuel filter and dumped several cans of chemtool injector cleaner over 3-4 tanks. Dealer finds no problems and code light is off now, hesitation at ... Read More
Just got a 1999 Sonoma extended cab 2.2L 4cyl. It seems as though this engine is not strong enough for this truck. I had a 96 2.2 standard trans. and it will easily out preform this newer truck which is automatic. Anyone know if I can replace this engine with a V6? Will it match up with the trans. in the truck. How much should it cost? Any help?
I recently purchased a 1999 GMC with the Vortek 4600, heaby duty suspension and locking rear axle. The truck is rated for 16-21 MPG, but I am only getting 13.5 and I do not do city driving. Is something wrong??
