Although the Sierra may be showing its age, it remains a solid contender among the heavy-duty trucks.

Dynamics

Stronger engine than the standard Sierra 1500.

Comfort

Excellent seats and driving position, but smallish cabin. Ride is a bit harsher than the 1500.

Control layout is dated and overly button-rich.

Design/Build Quality

The interior design and execution are showing their age.

Towing Capable Stronger engine allows the 1500 HD to handle a heavier load.
