I have a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE. I really enjoy my truck but have noticed that the door handles, mirrors, tailgate handle, black trim on rear bumper and the grill have all started to "weather" and look several years older than the rest of the truck. I Have a 2004 GMC Sierra 1500 shortbed with a 4.3L engine and about 15 miles on the truck. I drive 35 miles one way to work, mostly interstate. I am only getting a little better than 16 miles per gallon on the highway. I took it to the dealer for a chek-up, but was told thiat it was ok. There is a tsb out for awhile on the squeaking over bumps cause by the spring insulator. I had a 2000 GMC Sierra bought back by GM several years ago for steering wheel vibration. Now back in the market for full-size truck and considering Sierra. Hard to beat bang-for-buck; $29,300 MSRP and $20,300 out the door (less taxes). Anything to look out for these days? Test drive of a 2004 extended cab 1500 didn't reveal any vibration on the highway.
