You owned a highly problematic 2011 Sierra 1500 and now a new 2013 Sierra 1500 and from the same negligent dealer? What's wrong with this picture?
Now that I traded in my highly problematic 2011 Sierra 1500 that I had fun bashing in the very long transmission thread, I got a new 2013 Sierra 1500. Of course the dealer was lazy and did not do the Pre Delivery Inspection AGAIN. They confirmed they did not do it. For the last 2-3 weeks, I have been seeing drips on my driveway and garage. I ignored them, thinking they ... Read More

I traded in a 2008 Silverado with no frame rust issues for a 2011 GMC Sierra thats frame is peeling its coating like its shedding its skin. Couple that with parking it on my new driveway, and the result is rust streaking all along the drive. The truck only saw one mild winter, and was parked all winter long for this past one. Just plain junk, plain and simple. I've been ... Read More
Here's a new problem I just experienced with my 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 5.3L 4wd truck: After backing up about 200 feet, I put the truck in drive, and nothing. No gear, no throttle, no nothing. The truck just sat there and idled. I tried shifting the truck to park, and still nothing. In park, I hit the gas pedal, and no change in RPM's. It's like the computers were locked ... Read More
Chuck1, Congrats on being a satisfied owner. Throwing sales stats out just makes you look like a GM troll. Knock it off. There are known issues with these trucks, and like several others on here, we are not satisfied with GM's engineering, or their lack of response to the problem. I am just going out on a limb to guess you have not bought 7 new GMC trucks since 2004. I ... Read More
I don't blame you, I'm just as disgusted with GM dealers as well, they quote what corporate tells them to, refuse to fix a thing after they blow you off best they can. From everything I've read, it doesn't matter which dealer you go to, they all give you the same response and treatment. I've had a clunk noise since 1500 miles (V6 trans has issues), they will never admit to ... Read More
Letter has been sent to you. Thanks David
. I believe that not Just car Dealers but many types of business think good customers are always there and sometimes forget them. Till the time they no longer exist or have to file a formal complaint.
Sounds like you need a new dealership rather than a new truck. I suspect that if they continue to give other customers the "too busy" to help you line they won't be busy much longer.
If we could please set up a Service Request with you, it would allow us to follow up with your dealership and hopefully help move this towards a resolution. Please send us an email at the address in my profile with more information including: your name/Edmunds username phone and mailing address last 8 digits of your VIN and current mileage the name of your dealership and, if you can recall, the ... A new update for my situation. I took my truck to a couple non dealership mechanics and they both said the same, the knocking noise is coming from underneath the engine and could be either piston slap or connecting rod noise. Still also having problems with body side fender moldings that were to be replaced falling off and after 6 months they still are not fixed. After reporting the instrument cluster ... Read More
Well as normal these days , service said I hear nothing. Kinda funny a lady at a walmart parking lot walked by and said you know you have something ticking. Also on the way in my instrument cluster went dead except for volt meter. As I pulled in in came back to life. The service said well drive it till it dies again LOL. What if I am 500 miles from ... I have a what I believe is a lifter noise in the left side of engine. Always been there since new and now 7500 miles and getting louder. U can hear it at idle, cold or warm does not matter. I hear it better when you slow to a corner tick tick tick, and goes faster or slower with engine rpm.I get worried when in tow mode, when the engine shifts ... Read More
Hi Sam. General Motors is definitely providing support on leases of the Sierra 1500, but not the 2500 or 3500. Ally's current base lease rate for a 24-month lease of a 2012 Sierra 1500 is 1.1%. the number for an otherwise identical 36-month lease is 1.0%. The residual values vary by trim level. GM is providing a $5,500 cash incentive on 24-month and a $4,400 cash incentive on 36-month leases of ... Read More
Hi, I was told today that there is no gm manufacturer support on 2012 GMC Sierra leases to Ally. I am not sure I believe the salesman, but could this be correct? If I third party lease, can I get the cash back from the manufacturer? Do you know the current 24 and 36 month 12k/year residuals and interest rates on leases? Thank you for your time. Hi dylrex. Ally's November base lease rate and residual value for a 24-month lease of a 2012 GMC Sierra 1500 Crew Cab SLE 4WD with 12,000 miles per year are 1.1% and 58%. The numbers for an otherwise identical 36-month lease are 1.0% and 49%. The numbers for an otherwise identical 39-month lease are 1.0% and 47%. I don't believe that General Motors is providing lease support on the 2011 version ... Read More
Hi Car_man. Can you please provide me with the lease rates for 24/36/39 months with 12k per year on the above truck? Does the 2012 have better rates? Also, is there any lease cash or rebates available? Thank you in advance.
I recently bought a new Sierra pickup 4x4 1500 GMC 2011 and noticed that it's trans. Is behaving exactly like you explain. I took the car to the dealer in my country Saudi Arabia and they checked it and came back with the same reply "the trans. Is behaving as designed" . It looks like that GM is telling all it's dealers all over the world what to say to escape ... Read More
The new (2009 thru 2011) transmission issues must be widespread. When you log into the "Sierra 1500" forum, look what's listed at the top; "Chevy Silverado and GMC Sierra Transmission Problems." It's been the number two or three topic for a while now with over 1850 posts. I know some are redundant, but no other topic is close for this truck.
