GMC Jimmy Electrical System

Break Light on drivers side wont light up

I recently bought a 1999 GMC Jimmy SLE and noticed the break light on the drivers side wont light up. The other break lights as well as all other lights work as they should...just that break light. It's not the fuse and it's not the bulb. Any ideas what I can check next? Thank you. Read More...

I have recently purchase a 1999 GMC Jimmy. the remote was not working when I got the car and the dealer said it needed a change of battery.changed the battery and now everynight without fail the alarm kept on going off at ungodly hour.I have since went to the GMC Dealer and they gave me a brand new remote and have configured it. Check the grounding from the negative side of the battery to the engine, and also to the frame/body. A poor ground can also yield may bizarre symptons. Read More...

The electrical problems you describe on your Jimmy sound like a(or more) wires shorting to ground. I think you should take it to a reputable repair shop.Preferrably a Chevrolet or GMC dealer. We just bought a 1999 GMC Jimmy and are having electrical problems. We will be driving down the road and the the ABS, Security, Seatbelt lights come on, and also the Gas guage goes to E and the Temp guage goes to 0. i have a 1999 GMC Jimmy 4wd 4 door, i was driving to work when i heard a noise that was getting louder that the stereo.
