Good SUV with minor problems
Vehicle
2006 GMC Envoy XL SLT 4dr SUV 4WD (4.2L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I bought my truck in the summer it was a nice vehicle the was very smooth. First my rear wiper motor went out then a month later my Body Control Module starts acting up along with my six-disc changer not working.(ABC Computer)This parts are not covered under warranty when asking the price I was given $2100 to fix both of them. My suv will not start sometimes, the security system locks me out of dosen't read my key or keyless entry. I don't this have that kinda of money to put into the truck. I have to pay for xm and park the truck in the garge most of the time. I took it to the dealership and they looking like you have to pay out of pocket why isn't it covered it's an electrical problem.
Favorite Features
Leather seats, rear entertainment system, sunroof, spacous, wonderful sound system, many more.
Suggested Improvements
To improve the warranties for electrical problems, put a reset button on the lower dash for a temporary fix!

Long Term SUV
Vehicle
2006 GMC Envoy XL Denali 4dr SUV (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
The car is a joy to drive. Reliability is outstanding, handling is good, and mileage is good for a large V-8. My family likes the features that set it apart from other similar vehicles. On the road, it is a great vehicle that is comfortable on very long hauls.
Favorite Features
All the room and seating for 8; good looks, gorgeous interior, rain sensing wipers; well thought out cornering lights
Suggested Improvements
1. Need more leg room in the middle row 2. Need a way to control rear temps from the front. 3. Need a way to dim the XM Radio display at night

Exactly what I wanted
Vehicle
2006 GMC Envoy XL SLT 4dr SUV 4WD (4.2L 6cyl 4A)
Review
The inline 6 cylinder engine is very powerful and sacrifices little fuel economy. The ride is sublime. More cupholders upfront would be nice. The seats are very supportive and the 4 wheel drive is capable with its auto feature. The transmission is competent, but would have done better with GM's superb six-speed. The interior layout is intuitive and there are no major plastic creaks and rattles when driving. Steering is light and agile, possibly too much for a large midsize truck? The back is cavernous and can haul almost anything.
Favorite Features
Inline six cylinder engine, leather, huge interior, smooth ride.
Suggested Improvements
A nicer center stack like on the Envoy's sister the Saab 9-7x would be nice.

Overall - Good SUV
Vehicle
2006 GMC Envoy XL SLT 4dr SUV 4WD (4.2L 6cyl 4A)
Review
I have enjoyed my 2nd Envoy for the last 2 years. It has a nice ride, enough power and the XL fits my kids comfortably while still allowing enough room behind the third row for golf clubs, groceries, etc. I wish this model had an adapter for ipod, but had to get aftermarket parts. The cup holder placement was not well though of with the front one being very awkward. Also, could have at least one more in front. The removeable, adjustable shelf in the rear is a nice feature. Might have a bit too much wind noise on highway speeds for me.
Favorite Features
Cargo space, especially rear shelf behind third row.
Suggested Improvements
Better cup holder design, less wind noise

Best SUV I could find!!
Vehicle
2006 GMC Envoy XL Denali 4dr SUV 4WD (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
Powerful engine and love the DOD. Seamless! Excellent nav/stereo system except I wish it could play MP3's. Very comfortable in all rows, especially the 3rd row, my favourite seat. Rides and handles awesome for a vehicle its size. Tows effortlessly. Quiet in city or highway driving. Appreciate the side curtain airbags for my little girl. Best vehicle I've owned. Had some quirks in the beginning (engine ended up being replaced) but excellent since. Too bad it's not around after '07 although the Acadia is somewhat similiar.
Favorite Features
Powerful engine w/DOD, wheels, entertainment system, comfortable heated seats, 3rd row, Stabilitrak,
Suggested Improvements
MP3 capability, more or better placed cupholders, headrest lcd's instead of overhead(obstructs rear vision), and maybe squeeze a little more mileage out of it!

Reliable Family Vehicle

Review
Within 30 days of purchase, the power steering pump went out. I thought, Oh no, not a lemon? Fortunately, in the 18 months since purchase, this has been the only repair. A far cry from my days of owning a Land Rover Discovery! Anyway, we live in a high alpine ski resort (Telluride, CO) and with a family of 5, we are tough on our vehicle. The gas mileage is consistently 16.5mpg and the peppy engine has plenty of power for mountain roads. Extremely quiet and comfortable ride on what can be punishing highways. Love the heated seats. Fold down seats are great for hauling larger items. Very pleased with our purchase! Highly recommended! The OnStar system is super in the mountains too.
Favorite Features
Heated seats. OnStar in mountains and canyons works when cell phones cut out. Leather seats and overall comfort. Great for long trips!
Suggested Improvements
Make the optional DVD player a standard feature. We have the moonroof, which prevents the DVD screen from being able to be installed. Find a way.

2006 GMC Envoy XL SLE 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Car rides great. Interior could use some improvement on the SLE Package, since I would have expected more for a $30K vehicle. I am a little worried about the reliabilty of the engine and power train, since I heard both good and bad reviews.
Favorite Features
Car rides great
Suggested Improvements
Interior seating and seats control console w/ power seating unit broke, for no apparent reason. I am a little concerned on the transmission ratio, since the engine rev's up on the slightest inclines. I heard some stories on the engine and power-train reliability, after the 36K warranty is complete

I've had my Envoy a few weeks now and love it. After test driving the Mountaineer, Sequoia, Rendevous, Yukon, and TrailBlazer, I knew this was the one. My kids love it as well.
Favorite Features
The Bose radio system. Smooth ride and extra room.
Suggested Improvements
Bigger cup holders, sunglass holder and change compartment. My front leather seat is already cracking. Not even a year old, so that concerns me.
Great Style

Review
Like the interior and dash layout. Love the way it drives, very quiet and feels solid. Looked for a long time for something with 3 rows that was not a V8 and was roomy enough for my family and their legs. This has fit the bill. First brand new car I've ever purchased.
Favorite Features
The style love the look. The ride and preformance have been wonderful.
Suggested Improvements
Standard cargo area, and overhead compartment for more storage. Standard side curtain airbags, the only thing my GMC did not have put on by the manufacturer.
