I would like to happily report that after calling GM and getting a GM dealership to confirm that is was indeed part of the recall and the fuel sending unit - it only cost $147 to have it replaced with labor and taxes! The only bad part is that it also needed an oxygen sensor which then cost an additional $200 just to replace. Easy and no hassles whatsoever. Im glad ... Read More

2005 Envoy "Check Washer Fluid" Light
I have a 2005 GMC Envoy. When I turn start the car, or just turn the ignition to the on position, the "Check Washer Fluid" warning light pops up. The washer fluid reservoir is full, though. Mine is the oil pressure gauge also. My fuel sensor already went out so that was replaced. So at the request of GM I took my car to the dealership for diagnostics. I paid for the diagnostic and they told me the oil sensor is bad but GM will not cover it. (even though this is a known problem). Also, they told me I had a leak in the water pump ... Read More

Sarah and Ryan GM will not do a thing for the oil gauge issue. I just had the diagnostics run (that GM required) at a cost of 50 bucks, to tell me there is a problem with my oil gauge sensor but so sorry it is not covered and we will not fix it. You're right, I didn't. I left out other info. I think it's because I had just received the call from GMC and was so angry & frustrated. I went to another repair center. The GMC dealership wanted to charge me $400(it was $800 total, but I would only have to pay half). I paid about $700, but that was with a smog check. I was only requesting to be reimbursed $270. ... I have a 2005 GMC Envoy that I bought with 46K miles on it. 5 weeks after I bought it the gas guage went out, and I've been using the odometer as a gas guage ever since. The Envoy now has 108K miles on it. I've yet to get any response from GM customer service. I also just spent a ton getting the passenger side window switch diagnosed and repaired.

Stumbling, Instrument cluster isn't working... again
Well, we've owned the 2005 Envoy since new and now it seems to be falling apart. I received a letter today from GMC General Director Jim Moloney (Customer & Relationship Services), it states that GMC will pay for 50% of costs to replace the defected fuel lever sensor in my 2005 Envoy XL! Well, that "recall" will only help a fraction of those affected. It states: "The vehicles affected are Chevy Trailblazers, GMC Envoys and Buick Rainiers produced between 2005 and 2007." My wife's 2000 Envoy had the same problem, so it's not just 2005 and 2007 models!! It effects at least 2000 thru 2007....much more than they admit to. Where the heck do they get their information????

To remedy your problem you need to either take it in to a GMC dealer to replace the electronic gas tank float sensor or purchase the part online at GM Parts.com. If you decide to do the work yourself, you'll need to start with an almost empty gas tank. You'll have to drop the tank in order to get to the sensor to replace it. Don't forgot to file a complaint with the Dept of Transportation, since they are in the process of investigating this issue. You can file the form quickly and easily here: https://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/ivoq/ I figure the more complaints they get, the better chance they will eventually force a recall, since GM has failed its customers by refusing to voluntarily take any action.

If you are referring to the CLuster(dash where your oil, fuel, speed, etc... gauges are). It is not too hard fix but VERY expensive unless you know a mechanic. I found the cluster on ebay for $200, reset(cause you have to reset it so the milage matches what you have on your engine now). This is BS though and should be a recall on GM"S part. At this point I almost want to trade it in. I love the way it drives and the room but to keep taking it in and having problems is not good. Now they are saying leak in the a/c line under the fuel tank. Could cost $500 on up depending on if line needs replaced or repaired. This is crazy. Vin# 1GKET16SX56167700. I have never had a car with this many problems.

Come you can't say that GMC does not necessarily know about this problem. There's too many ENVOY owners out there experiencing the same problems with the instrument panel. GMC should have a recall. They shouldn't wait until someone gets hurt or worse killed, because their speedometer or other gauges do not work properly. Even if GMC helps with just 1/2 the cost to replace would be something.
