2002 GMC Envoy XL SLT 2WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)

Review

I resent so much
buying one it's unbelievable. Within a
year the car has been in the service
department 7 times; wipers stopped
working, a/c broke twice and still
having problems with it, car
turned off by itself a few times, rear
noise (transmission or differential
joints were replaced), fan clutch
replaced; wind noise is terrible in
this vehicle, cracking noise on the
steering front end (twice has been
taken to the dealer for this problem)
and a few other items I can't remember
now. It is a nice looking vehicle but
quality wise sucks!!
GM could have done a better job.

Best Features

its look

Worst Features

re-design the damn car over again, put major quality in it. I feel rip off owning this vehicle. I paid for a quality, new family vehicle and instead I got something that basically lives in the service department every other month. What a disgrace!

2002 GMC Envoy XL SLT 4WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)

Review

We purchased our Envoy XL SLT
approximately 2 months ago after much
research into 7-passenger SUVs.
Although we love the comfort, styling,
and features of this vehicle, we have
been very disappointed in its
reliability. We have had it in for
service 4 times in two months. The
problems have involved the fuel line
and fuel system (2 separate repairs),
the solenoid, and the wiper mechanism
(replaced wiper module after wipers and
windshield wash squirters would not
turn off). Needless to say, at this
price and with a brand-new vehicle, we
have been more than disappointed.

Best Features

Comfort, styling, convenience features

Worst Features

Larger side mirrors would greatly improve visibility, which is poor compared to other SUVs of this size.

Review

I researched many SUV's that would
handle 7 passengers and the Envoy XL
was the best I came up with considering
price, options & cargo area. Upgraded
to the SLT and wanted the DVD but by
the time I bought it, I had to get the
moon roof instead and had them install
the DVD (3 kids). Owned 1 month.
Rides like a Caddilac. This is my
first experience with trucks and I was
plesantly surprised.

Best Features

All the options that are standard, ride, room, cargo space.

Worst Features

Air cut out once and leather came out of side airbag but dealer fixed. Front seats could have more lubar support.

2002 GMC Envoy XL SLT 2WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)

Review

I waited until GMC came out with the
XL edition for the third seat
capacity; however, the biggest
advantage is the smoother ride that
the additional wheel base offers.
Exterior detail is easy on the eye and
makes the truck look bigger than it is.

Best Features

The ride, interior design and the fuel milage are my favorite features.

Worst Features

Move the mirror up a bit higher or allow the driver's seat to go lower - the current positioning makes it hard for taller drivers to see traffic to the right

2002 GMC Envoy XL SLT 4WD 4dr SUV (4.2L 6cyl 4A)

Review

After wanting to move out of minivan
land and into an SUV I chose the Envoy
XL. As soon as I test drove it I knew
this vehicle was for me. Mistake
number one. Although I love the ride,
comfort and convenience it offers the
GMC professional grade claim doesn't
hold ture. My Envoy XL has been
plagued by trouble as soon as I wrote
the check and tried to drive it off the
lot. Trusting they would repair it and
make it right was mistake number two.
Electrical problems, air conditioning
failure,twice,squeeking, what next?

Best Features

I love the heated seats, and the Bose sound system, however I am waiting for those to fail as well.

Worst Features

Work out your kinks before they hit the market, service managers who listen and aren't preprogramed with the standard, can't duplicate the problem. I CAN!
