Sorry for the delay...it turned out to be a faulty remote starter unit..polar star3175e replaced and working fine...for now...Electrical seems to be a bad word with these trucks! 2008, SLE Crew 4X4 95000 kms and so far only the usual.. oil, maintence issues, plus a purge valve for fuel tank...still love the truck!! Knock on dashboard! Want to possibly put a plow on it..any suggestions? Looked at a Fisher Homesteader...5000$ installed...was hoping ... Read More

Recently put a remote starter on it and have had some strange things happening...security light coming on as I drive ...as well as dome light coming on when I stop...it displays ... Read More

It wont kickdown when I go on 3rd or 4th gear and hardly step on the gas. It hessitates, and shifts down until I loosen my foot. I did this with less than a quarter tank full of gas, I filled it up with gas and it wont do it anymore. Why did that happen?

My mileage is now 162435 and it is doing it again. There needs to be a recall or I am thinking about a class action lawsuit. Anybody want to join. I think that the letter for a recall they sent out on November ... Read More

I'm very surprised that people stay faithful to a product that fails on such a grand scale. In my last post I commented on my satisfaction with earlier Toyota products. In 1990 the Toyota I bought was bullet proof. The 1998 Corolla was up there at 90%. Although I found that car annoyingly underpowered for freeway travel, I didn't keep it long, I bought a Mazda. In 2003 I bought a ... Read More

Hello, I found "The Letter". I had received it in November 2008 and my wife had filed it away without telling me. It says that in "some" 2006 Colorados "engine valve seats may wear." A tipoff that this is happening is that the Service Engine Soon (SES) may come on and "additional wear may lead to engine idle roughness." Anyhow, the letter is a notification that the warranty for this problem ... Read More

One would have to suspect the wiper switch since it replicates what you get when you accidentally hit the arm once.

I'm having an issue with the wipers in my 08 Canyon. Periodically, the wipers will come on by themselves and make one complete pass across windshield and return to rest. This happens maybe once every two weeks or so. I haven't noticed any other electrical issues. Anyone else experiencing this? If so, have you identifed the cause and/or fix?
