Aimed at families needing an abundance of passenger room, the GMC Acadia is a large crossover SUV with three rows of seating. Mechanically, it's very similar to the Buick Enclave and Chevrolet Traverse. Thanks to its spacious interior, capable engine and competitive pricing, the Acadia is one of the better choices for a family vehicle, especially if you don't want a minivan.
In our road tests we've found the Acadia's handling respectable, and its smooth, quiet ride is particularly impressive. The Acadia is one of the roomiest crossover utility vehicles in its class, with seating for up to eight passengers depending on the seat configuration. There's room for adults in the second and third rows, and with the seats folded down, the Acadia's substantial cargo space is topped only by minivans and extra-large SUVs like the Chevy Suburban.
