Loved it at first, now not so sure!
Vehicle
2008 GMC Acadia SLE-1 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
Review
We have had our Acadia 1 year. We have an engine noise that can't be fixed. Dealership has changed motor mounts, air conditioner compressors, drained oil from the new air conditioner compressor and still the noise is present. The car used to accelerate great but now you must floor it to get the car to go anywhere. Seriously GMC, a brand new car should not be in the repair shop for 17 days in 1 month! We are going to either just cut our losses and eat the fact that the car depreciated $16K in 1 calender year or try our chances with the lemon law. I knew we should not have bought American! Never again GMC!
Favorite Features
The DVD player (which also had to be replaced at 3000 miles)
Suggested Improvements
Not enough characters remaining to even try.

Mostly I love this vehicle. I had some problem with the skylight, leaked. Had it replaced, no problems. A few recalls, once the recalls were fixed runs well. Lots of room, looks smaller than it is. Back up camera, love this option. Mileage not as good as expected but it's not any better than my old vehicle. I had a 1998 Safari van. I find that there are a few blind spots that I had to get used to. We had lots of snow recently, handles well in the snow and ice. I was impressed with that. Looks good, interior nice, lots of cup holders. I can even haul three hockey players one parent and equipment, including goalie equipment!
Favorite Features
Back up camera, nav system, remote tailgate, 12 cup holders,
Suggested Improvements
Blind spots, windshield wiper area, too much snow gets in, hard to remove snow in the gap

Great Ride and Better than Highlander
Vehicle
2008 GMC Acadia SLT-2 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
Review
When my '01 GMC YukonXL was needed as a farm vehicle, began the search for a new family car. We loved the drive and comfort of our previous GMC yet no longer needed the size of the YukonXL. In addition, with a 6'2" all leg 14 year old and another boy growing, comfort was key. Looked seriously at the Toyota Highlander (family discount available). The boys tested both for legroom and comfort and Acadia far superior. Second row bucket seats have more mobility to move forward and recline than Highlander. Third seat easily accessible and comfortable to average- sized adult while not compromising space. AWD fabulous! In recent 3' snow, drove superbly. Overall a quiet, smooth drive.
Favorite Features
Remote lift gate, remote start (great for pre-heating in cold weather), heated windshield washer fluid, Driver Information Center, power outlet (great for on-the-go charging of cameras & ipods), and power foldaway outside mirrors
Suggested Improvements
Front passenger seat lacks the ability to adjust front and rear heigth as found on driver seat
Great for a family

If you need room for more than four and don't want to drive a truck, this is the auto for you. We have truly enjoyed this vehicle. We traded in a Toyota Sequoia and we would never go back to that beast. The Acadia is much easier to drive around town and has enough room for our kids and our luggage. The mileage is as advertised as long as you go easy. The transmission does take some time to get use to, but after a while you stop noticing it. The backup camera is very helpful. The Acadia is great in the snow and has the best heated seats of any car I have owned. Extremely comfortable during long trips. The heads up display is great with the navigation system.
Favorite Features
Heated seats, heads up display, overall comfort and storage space
Suggested Improvements

GMC Acadia. One of GM's best!

As a 40 year veteran engineering manager at Ford, GM, and Chrysler I know a good car when I see one. I have driven GMC Jimmys since 1988 and held off replacing my 2001 until I could find a satisfactory replacement. Tried all the competition, Acura, Higlander, Honda Pilot, Mitsubishi, Volvo, Ford's stuff, Dodge and Jeep. The Acadia outtrumps them all, even my wifes new MB ML350! Those who demean domestic carmakers need to go "looksee" and drive. Acadia is an excellent machine in every respect with just a few minor glitches, but great ride, handling, performance, quietness, interior, and content. Well done GM! As the Arnold would say, "I'll be back!"
Favorite Features
Styling, ride, handling, performance, versatility, features.
Suggested Improvements
Access to ignition key requires bending to the right so you can see where it is. "SPUD" should be moved to instrument panel. Lower IP panel under steering column has sharp corners and is a "knee knocker." Revise shape to semi-circle. Seat garnish molding catches ankle, needs to be rounded.

Great Car, Great Value
Vehicle
2008 GMC Acadia SLT-1 4dr SUV (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
Review
I have been looking for a car for several months. We are a family with four children, two in college, two in high school. While we thought we could downsize with two kids out of the house, we found we still need space in a vehicle for when everyone is home, moving into and out of dorm rooms, hauling around friends, etc. This SUV is the perfect size for that...not too big, but with room enough to comfortably seat 6 of us and the dog. I shopped around a lot! Looked at MDX, Volvo, VW, Mercury. The GMC was the best price of all other models I compared to. I love the ease of use of all the controls, visibility is great as well. Not a luxury interior, but practical and well designed. Love it.
Favorite Features
Head up display, power liftgate, dual sunroof, remote start.
Suggested Improvements
Can't think of any.

I hate this SUV!

Review
In the less than a year that we have had our Acadia it has been in the shop 4-5 times! It's obvious that it was very poorly built. The driver's seat broke the 1st week, the wipers broke mid rain storm, the service airbag light, engine light, and oil light have all been on and had to be serviced. And there was a recall that had to be fixed! After all of this I finally get my vehicle back and hit a deer, which did $5500 worth of damage to the front end yet the air bag never went off and on-star never came on! The way it shifts is awful, the noise & vibrations when the windows are down is horrible and I am so sick of this vehicle. Now my tire pressure light is on- it is always something!
Favorite Features
I love the asthetics, it's a beautiful vehicle.
Suggested Improvements
Build with more quality!

Better vs Pilot or Highlander
Vehicle
2008 GMC Acadia SLT-2 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
Review
I had Pilot and Highlander, but when I bought Acadia I sold Highlander. Acadia is the best among them ride comfort, precise at speed driving, tech data like wheel base or 6spd auto or standard luxury like heated mirrors and wash liquid, auto hiding mirrors etc.
Favorite Features
Two screen DVD with headphones, OnStar, car phone number, e-mail monthly report, etc.
Suggested Improvements
I would add some horses.

Acadia 08 SLT 2WD

Review
I love this vehicle. Everything is great about it. The look, the handling, the quitness at 0ver 80 mph (be creative), the options, etc.. But there still some small thing I wan to comment on. For a 40k car there is so much plastic inside. You expect it to be more luxurious but it's not. Have bluetooth, for God's sake we are in the 21 century. Premium sound system is so not premium, bearly giving sound. Guess they forgot to install the amp. The gas mileage is not so bad as long as you are babysitting it, but if you dare to push that pedal you will truly see the gas gauge is going down in front of your eyes, but that should be expected with a huge car like this. After all I still love this car
Favorite Features
Remote starter, back up camera, nav, DVD, auto-manual transmission. The look.
Suggested Improvements
Better mileage (I don't think thats possible unless they go hybrid). Missing a lot of small details from the inside. And definitely have a bluetooth. Full size spare should be standard especially when you pay 40k. Please GM don't go cheap on stuff any more. Give people what they actually pay for.

Junk so far
Vehicle
2008 GMC Acadia SLT-2 4dr SUV AWD (3.6L 6cyl 6A)
Review
We purchased our Acadia new with 5 miles on it. The problems began 1week later by having to have a new engine put in it! then the battery went dead a few months later and the OnStar didn't work to call for help. The traction control quit working and had to be fixed, then the cruise control quit working, then the battery went dead again while driving at night so we had no dash lights and not much of anything was working, so after 5 times of being in the shop lets hope it's all fixed, we should have a new car by now with all those new parts,oh wait, we did buy a new car. Comfortable ride when it runs, NAV doesn't work right, OnStar works sometimes, love it when everything works! Gimme a new one
Favorite Features
Confortable ride, options when they work. Room inside, very roomy.
Suggested Improvements
Sell them with extra parts so we have spare parts when we break down. Make OnStar work on a separate battery so we can use it to call for help when the battery is dead
