We bought our 2008 Gmc Acadia used in Jan 2011. Within 3 months the headliner was leaking thru the dome light & airbags. Since the Manufactor warranty had expired we went to a none dealership crrtified mechanic to get fixed (cost way less than dealership). Had the front weather stripping replaced. No leaks until a week ago (Jan. 2012). Went to dealership to get fixed since was told it was the ... Read More
Just got a note from the GMC Professionals. Looks as if the Acadia has a new design for 2013. From this link I really can not tell alot about it, but here it is anyway http://www.gmc.com/2013-acadia-crossover-vehicle.html?evar36=eml_gmc_enews_hr_01- 12_vehicle Bill (satisfied owner of a 2008 Saturn Outlook XR)
Cursed with a 2008 Acadia SLT2 sunroof etc. 114,000 miles later....... Leaking roof several visits but fixed by parking in my garage. New transmission @ 75000 mi. Power seat never worked on drivers side when I used, I'm 235 lbs, worked fine for my much lighter wife. Fuse box had to be replaced because of the leaks. Now warranty is off and the other day all lights on dash stayed on ... Read More
We are having the exact same problems with our 2008 and now have electrical problems due to the water leaking in. I had to post after your comment on the GM service rep. I wonder if they are actually doing anything with that info or just trying to appear concerned!! Sooo frustrating. Good luck!!
After having several issues with my 2008 GMC Acadia, today I pull into the parking lot at work, put the car in park, remove the key from the ignition and the car keeps running! It took nearly 2 minutes for the car to turn off, finally sputtering to a stall. Last month we experienced water leaks due to faulty drainage tubes, which my dealership said was really a seal that needed ... Read More
I bought my 2008 Acadia SLT2 brand new. After driving it for about 5 minutes I went back to the dealer and requested an extended warranty. I had no doubt that the transmission would encounter an early failure because of the extremely early and soft shift profile programmed into the ECU. Well, I'm glad I did. The transmission toasted itself at 62,000 miles and the dealer rebuilt it last week with ... Read More
I bought a 2008 Acadia SLT - love the look, room, towing ability (have a 4,500 lb. boat and trailer) and mpg. At 25,000 the transfer case went out (covered by warranty), then the radio (it worked but the screen is blank so you don't know the station), then the front struts, the rack and pinion and most recently the power steering pump all before 70,000 miles. Hi all, First question - with all the issues with body welds and water intrusion, why hasn't there been some sort of class action lawsuit brought against GM (whether car is in/out of warranty)? Has anyone experience headlight problems with their Acadia? I have a 2008 and have replaced both bulbs and now both have again gone out!! Seems that this vehicle is starting to fall apart on us now.
I had this exact same thing happen to us in our 2008 GMC Acadia last fall. They told us it was a stuck solenoid too and replaced the transmission. NOW, I just took it in with issues and it is the transmission again. Apparently there is a solenoid that is bad again.
I just finished a weekend trip when my transmission failed on the Interstate highway. RPM jumped to 4000 while speed rapidly declined, then transmission warning lamp came on. OnStar checked and the code indicated a stuck solenoid. Towed to dealer. Didn't take them long to decide they needed to pull the transmission to diagnose further. I have posted before. Brake booster replaced, Left Pinion replaced, A/C not working properly. Guess What? The transmission just went out. Car in the shop for 2 eeks and 3 days. Reason for the delay parts deferred. I will never buy GMC again. My car is a lemon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Run and don't look back. Check out the foreign vehicles. My 2008 Acadia came from the factory with no sealings on the assembly whatsoever on the entire moonroof/sunroof combo. Do you have any idea how disheartening it can be to see rain water coming out of your DVD player let alone all the other places it was leaking :( ? I thought I had purchased my dream car and what a ... Read More
Well here I am...frustrated. We bought our 2007 Acadia new, and it has been in the shop way too much. I have lost all confidence in this vehicle and now afraid to drive it. It has had power problems from day one...a delay in shifting. So passing a car is scarey. Now it downshifts too much and the RPM's go up to 6-7. The dealer tells me this is normal. Well, ... I don't like to complain however I have had more problems with my 2008 GMC Acadia. Long story short it has all the features I want along with style. I have a family of 5 and it fits good. I bought the vehicle with 18K miles on it and it now has 40K. I have had two fuel pumps put in, the sunroof repaired twice, the sunvisor repaired 3 times, the ... Read More
Hello Jalla, I am from GM Customer Service. I apologize that you are experiencing an issue with your vehicle. Can you please keep me informed on how it goes at the dealership? Thank you, Mariah GM Customer Service
Hi. I have the exact same problem with my 2008 Acadia. When I am in a parking lot, or making a turn from a stopped position, the steering locks up. I have already had a new steering frame put in, I've already had the steering fluid flushed, and they recently replaced a steering belt, but the problem remains. I'm going to bring the car in and go for a drive with ... Read More
I am having a similar problem with my 2008 GMC Acadia, the dealership and GM. My check engine light came on and we took the car to the dealership from which we bought it. We were told that there was sludge in the engine which was a result of the oil not being changed. We were told to produce the receipts. Once we produced the receipts we were then told that ... The starting problem has a been a dead battery everytime. I had GM road side service come out numerous times to jump start me. I had it towed to the dealer twice so they could catch it in the act. Because after I get it started with jumper cables I go to the dealer and they can't find anything wrong. Even when it was there dead they had car for 3 ... Read More
Scotty, when you say you have had a starting problem since day one, could you eloborate as to what your Acadia does. I am curious b/c my Acadia may sit for a couple of days and then will chug or acts like the starter hangs when I start it. You will notice on my post that I had to have my Acadia towed and would love the info for my records. ... Read More
