We purchased an SLT2 FWD in April 2007.
We have 47,000 miles on the vehicle.
We did experience a water pump issue that was covered under the 100K mileage warranty.
Other than that, the Acadia has been trouble free.
We just returned from a 2,100 mile trip to Colorado from California and back through the Nevada and Utah deserts where the temperature was 105 degrees.
The Acadia was great.
I realize some owners have experienced issues that I'm sure GM is attempting to address.
This vehicle is built by Americans for Americans as well as others.
I only wish I'd ordered AWD and a tow package (for bikes).
Our mileage was 18.52 mpg matching exactly what the DIC indicated.
Buy and Acadia
Our favorite features are the room.
The middle and rear seats fold flat which is great for hauling.
The automatic rear doors is wide enough to take a four foot sheet of plywood (the Enclave can't).
The ride and styling feel like the vehicle is larger.
The audio system is wonderful and the 120 volt inverter allows you to plug in a computer and, if you have a portable WiFi hot spot (like Verizon MiFi) you can hook to the internet along the way.
Non reflective trim around the air conditioning vents and better rear side and rear window visibility.
The transmission shift pattern is odd.
I noticed going up moderate grades the RPM is over 5K, which sounds and feels like a strain
