1999 Ford Windstar LX 3dr Minivan
Review
"Buy American" I thought proudly. Two transmissions later I'm replacing my Windstar with a Camry or an Accord. I can't afford to be patriotic if that means supporting unreliable vehicles like this Windstar. Dealers charge over $100 to diagnose mysterious trouble lights on the dash...three times already. The AC and power steering systems leak. Ford has a problem with their automatic transmissions. The service manager at the dealership advised me that transmissions were a known Ford weakness. Ford's customer service was useless.

Suggested Improvements
tranmission and having the dealers charge for diagnosing dash trouble lights is outrageous. The car tells me there is a problem, I take it to the dealer and they tell me it will cost $129 to hook it up to a machine to identify the problem. That's maddening.
