sounds like oil fawled plugs. the valve stem seals are a issue for windstars. also look to see if you have a vacuum leak at any of the hoses that go into the engine.
Its weird you say its loosing power cause thats exactly what mine is kind of doing, it just doesnt want to seem to get up and go. Hi all, I'm selling a transmission that was pulled out of a 95 Windstar. It was rebuilt by Ford and only has about 5000 miles on it. A guy e-mailed me and asked if it would fit into his 1998 Windstar, which also has the 3.8L. I'm a diesel mechanic, not an auto mechanic, so I don't want to steer him wrong. Thanks in advance! Todd

Our 1998 Windstar transmission began slipping about 4 weeks ago. It happens when we are accelerating from a stop, the engine revs as if the transmission is in neutral. The transmission fluid level is fine, and the transmission fluid is not burnt. ... Read More

My 1998 Ford windstar Passenger window stopped working about a year ago as well. I'd be interested in this reply too. Thanks
You need to check available current and current draw, not voltage. You could have a pinched wire not supplying enough power to the motor, or the window could be hanging up in its track or the regulator assebly could be jamming overworking the motor.
I am looking for some technical advise, the passenger window of my 1998 Ford Windstar stopped working, I consulted a mechanic who has replaced the motor.
