o gosh, ford. there ya go, that explains it. Where do i start? i have had SSOO many problems with this car. The TRANNY, electrical problems, lights burn out constantly, stalling of engine, overheating of engine, tranny fell out, trucks space limited, poor sound system, 1 wheel came off driving at 55 mph, not good pick up, is that enough to turn you away from this car? trust me dont buy one. It has spent weeks in the shop. its a peice of crap. dont put your money down the drain!

Review

This car is COMPLETE JUNK. Do not buy one... Quality is awful, layout is very poorly planned as far as the engine bay goes. Engine vibrates, transmission is complete junk. Window trim is complete garbage. This car is a complete nightmare to drive and work on.

Favorite Features

The door handle that gets me out.

Suggested Improvements

Everything

Review

Too many easily prevented problems from manufactuer. Head gaskets are a huge problem along with skrawny motor mounts that couldn't even support torque for a 4 cylinder. Honestly the problems are a pitty.

Favorite Features

A stereo that I installed and was stolen. The thieves used a screwdriver to open the door from the key holeand the door unlocked. ("what a great locking mechanism...NOT!")

Suggested Improvements

Start from scratch and build again...I have to say thats what ford did. The 2003 thunderbird is a big improvement from the previous 90's models.

Review

I bought this car when I was 16 and for the past three years it's been a constant money leach.Even though I take good care and only use about one third of an average yearly milege Its broken down 4 times and what happened at 80,000 miles, you guessed it ...the tranny went.Overall it's a cheaply made unefficient gas hog.

Favorite Features

fast exterior style

Suggested Improvements

transmission, paint, interior, (cheap plastics) power, and efficiency for it's size

Review

Pretty pearl paint has numerous imperfections, front cap was so shoddily mounted that factory bra wouldn't fit! Next problem was the transmission, it came up for recall. Since that time, it has had 3 complete rebuilds. Ford caught 2 of them under warranty and I paid for the last one. The V8 is a decent motor, too bad it was backed up by such a dog transmission. However, when everything is working right, it is a blast to drive. Still love the styling, almost a direct knockoff of a BMW 6 series coupe! Leather seats are supportive, have held up well, Moonroof has never leaked. The car is a Jeckyl/Hyde. My better idea? NO MORE FORDS!!!

Favorite Features

Exterior styling, fun to drive, sometimes...

Suggested Improvements

Those cupholders, explain the whole car! Job 1 and Better Idea folks were taking a break when this one was screwed together.
