Elegant Full Sized Vehicle with Luxury and Spunk
By kquark on
2013 Ford Taurus Limited 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 6A)
We discovered the new Taurus through renting it first.
We did not even realize the car was a Taurus because it was nothing like previous versions.
We ended up renting it again for another trip and decided this was the car we would purchase after doing some research with other comparable cars.
The 2013 Taurus really just feels like a complete luxury vehicle.
This is the first American car we purchased in over twenty years.
Every detail speaks to quality and design.
For example the dashboard is not only very functional but extremely appealing aesthetically.
The new design is elegant and muscular at the same time.
Roomy interior, very comfortable ride and quietest car we've ever driven.
Engine performance is spunky and the suspension is much tighter than what we thought we would get with a large car.
The trunk is gigantic.
The technical features like MyTouch and MS SYNC are extensive and relatively easy to use.
The 12 speaker Sony system sounds phenomenal even better than the Bose system in our Nissan.
Passing and parking assistance makes those tasks much easier and safer.
Gas millage is excellent with a car that has this kind of power and not only can you use regular gas with flex fuel capability you can use cheaper E-85 fuel.
Visibility is not great so we would recommend the rear view camera with parking assist and passing assistant options.
The SE and SEL lacks some standard features that we think are essential like the rear view camera.
We've heard people complain the car feels a bit cramped because the doors are high and thick but to us it feels like an added bit of safety that shows up in the good safety ratings.
The people we drove in it never had this complaint so I would decide for yourself.
