2009 Mercury Sable Premier "Clunk" Noise

I have a 2009 Mercury Sable Premier FWD with 18" Pirelli' tires and app 4ooo miles and my car makes a "clunk" noise when going over bumps at slow speed. I have taken it back to a local Ford Dealer and they replaced both front struts and also the strut mounts and said that the sound is gone. Obviously they are deaf! I have a 1999 Ford Taurus Wagon. To avoid a wreck I put the car into reverse from drive and accelerated hard. The tires squeaked and all of the sudden the car made a grinding noise. When I put it up it into any other gear it made the same noise. I can only put it in park or neutral. Post the a link to a copy of the ad on here. AWD SELs have an invoice of $27,500 and even if you total up all the incentives you only run up to $2,500 dollars in rebates. Most people won't qualify for the $500 early order one or the $500 military bonus or the $500 college grad rebate. Holdback on Fords is 3% of MSRP so 870 bucks or so. 5,077 - up 60% from a year ago. Hard to tell how many of these were 2010 vs. 2009 models but as of today there were no 2009 Tauruses on any of the dealer lots near me and only 2-4 2010 models. We'll have to wait and see what the numbers look like next month but that is encouraging. Overall Ford was down 6% (14% retail). Toyota down 16%, Honda down 23%. Chrysler down 40%. GM ... I won't argue with you on re-sale value. Of course for people who keep their cars 10 years, re-sale value is no concern. Ford put a decent body on and interior in the 2010 Taurus. Everything "under the skin" is the same as 2009. Used 2009 Ford Taurus' with 15,000 miles on the clock are available for half of sticker price today. I'm glad I didn't buy one for $34K last year ... Don't forget that the "all new" 2010 Ford Taurus is about 70% carryover from the 2009 Ford Taurus. They changed the sheet metal and interior, and they modified the suspension. Other than that, it's the same chassis (D9), same motor, same basic suspension, etc. Check out the rapid and incredible depreciation on this gen Ford Taurus. You can get a two year old one ... I come from a Ford family, but have had many a Honda as well as Ford. To be technical, they have to compare them because of the EPA rated "large car" category. However, I do think they are completely different cars and the comparison just doesn't work. The Taurus is HUGE! It certainly feels more upscale.
