1997 Taurus Wagon was a decent form of
transportation for a while. Little
problems were encountered, until we hit
75,000 miles. Then like clockwork...
boom- the head gasket blows, and a
$2500 engine rebuild cost. On a 5 year
old car which had a value of only $3750
Nothing stood out as exceptional. The
third row seat was nice on occasion,
but no interior exit handle for the
poor passengers there make it kind of
Hmmm. Build an engine that can last
past 75K? Seems to be FORD's M.O.
build cheap cars that last 5 years then
you pay later. Had an '87 Honda with
225K (and still going), and a have a 95
Toyota with no problems at 85K...
