2003 Ford Ranger SuperCab 2dr SuperCab Edge Rwd Styleside SB (3.0L 6cyl 5M)

Review

Have had truck for 10 months & 11,000 miles. Has been 100% trouble free. Be sure to get the 4.0 Liter V6. The extra cost is worth the grin-factor. Considered the Tacoma, but for the same equipment it would have cost about $5K more. The extra cost was not worth the possibly better reliability. Plus with the Ranger I bought a 75K mile extended warranty so what's to worry about. I'm way ahead on $$

Best Features

Everything, except I need a bit higher head rests.

Worst Features

I like the 2004 60/40 seats and am trying to buy a pair. Email me if you have any:)

2003 Ford Ranger SuperCab 4dr SuperCab XLT Appearance Rwd Styleside SB (3.0L 6cyl 5A)

Review

Have had my Ranger XLT w/4.0 V6 for about 7 months. No mechanical or appearance problems. Truck is really fun to drive, comfortable, runs quiet for a truck and is very smooth. Have used it for just pleasure, hauling yard debris, furniture....greater performer for each use.

Best Features

AC blows very cold in summer. Smooth acceleration. V6, 4.0 Liter Engine is fun. Paint finish very nice.

Worst Features

Gas mileage. My experience....generally around 15/16 MPG. As low as 14 during major cold weather. As high as 20 on extended summer trip.

Review

My 1995 ranger was a great truck, never had a problem with it and drove it for 8 years. Bought a new 2003 and have had nothing but problems, its been in the shop over 7 times this year and two of the times it needed to be towed in, i drive for my job and cant afford to have this many problems with this truck, iam in the process of trading it in on a new Toyota pick-up this weekend, thanks John/seamars1@aol.com

Best Features

2003 Ford Ranger SuperCab 2dr SuperCab Edge Rwd Styleside SB (3.0L 6cyl 5M)

Review

The Edge is a very precise handling truck, due in large measure to its suspension I suppose. Don't move the steering wheel unless you want the truck to change direction. In trade for that precision handling, you sacrifice ride comfort. It is a rough ride, and the seat quality leaves a lot to be desired, but then again, this is a sport truck. At 20000 the idler pulley went, and the windshield is typical Ranger in that anything harder than treesap will chip, crack or break the glass. The fog lights are not simply a coolness thing. They work well. Easy in and out, except the jumpseats, and easy to clean interior.

Best Features

plastic floor throughout. ergonomic controls. abundant power. stable feel on/off road. excellent legroom. I am 6'4". three coffee cup holders.. all within reach. good MPG for V6, if you keep your foot out of it. Lots of plastic body.. limits loss to corrosion.

Worst Features

lower seat for tall drivers. telescoping steering wheel for tall drivers that have to have the seat all the way back. better MPG., but not at the expense of the power.
