have 2000 ford ranger 2.5 motor, it will not run right, have had codes redone ,did not work, when driving the truck will bog done and act like it is not getting any gas and you have to pump like crazy to get it to take fuel, may run very few miles before it does it again. will not idle unless u revive up motor like crazy to get it to accept fuel. have put new fuel pump, filter ... I have a 2000 ford ranger 4x4, 3.0 liter. When i shift into 4x4 high there is a hard snap and it feels as though you run over a deep crack in the road. This happens approximately every 10 seconds or so. when i shift back to 4x2 it happens one last time. If anyone can point me in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it, Thank-you. ford had a class action lawsuit in california. there is an electronic part near the distributor on many ford vehicles from at least the 1980's through around 2000. when it gets overheated the circuit shorts and causes the engine to die. After it cools down the circuit is complete and vehicle runs again. The part is inexpensive. Read More...
