1993 Ford Ranger XLT 2dr Regular Cab LB

Review

I bought this truck new in 1993. I have had another vehicle most of the past 10 years, so the mileage isn't too high (80K). Other than the leaks others have written about, no major problems or unplanned expenses. Exterior has held up well. Interior fabrics, carpet, and trim have held up very well. It is relegated to being a hauler & airport parker (to keep my "good" car safe at home), but I'm planning to keep it another 10 years.

Favorite Features

I still think Ford did a great job with the seat fabric this model year. I have the 4.0L V6 which I have never regretted.

Suggested Improvements

The plastic freeze plugs were just a really, really bad idea. I can't imagine there are still trucks out there that haven't had them replaced with brass plugs after 10 years (mine lasted less than 40K miles).
