This is an excellent vehicle for the age it has on it. It still runs very well and the comfort level is great.

Review

This truck was my late fathers work truck. It works well and runs great but a 2.3L engine in a truck is a little small however it has been really reliable with 274,000 miles on it. Even in Chicago with our cold winters and sometimes hot summers it always starts.

Favorite Features

I like the fact it has been used hard and continues to run, I am in the market for another truck

Suggested Improvements

Interior is a little tight for 2 people and a 3.0 V6 should be a standard engine along with A/C which my truck does not have.

My Ranger has been a great truck. Will soon surpass 217,000 miles with no major problems. Fun to drive. Good acceleration when downshifting to pass. Smooth handling for a truck. Capable off road and on.

Favorite Features

Push button 4WD, reliabilty

more legroom and interior storage

Review

I have had zero problems with this Ranger. It is at 120,000 miles and still running strong. Body is in great shape, very minor surface rust in normal locations - and paint looks very good. Vehicle has never been garaged and is in the Northeast.

Favorite Features

400 miles per tank of fuel (20 gal tank - mixed driving)serves as evryday transportation yet has served well as a "truck" through old house remodeling!

Suggested Improvements

Rear seat in the extended cab needs to be a safer - front facing seat.

Review

I bought this truck four years ago, and I have been very satisfied with its reliability and performance. In four years, the only major repair was to replace the clutch at 130,000 miles. The transmission is still in good shape, and it gets 21 mpg on the highway. The 2.8L V6 is more than enough for this truck, and makes it easy to take off the pavement, a must in rural Ohio.

Favorite Features

For a mid-sized truck, steering and handling is very good. I can parallel park this truck in busy city streets.

Great truck. I would recomend it to anyone. My truck only has 92,000 miles and it runs great.

Favorite Features

The engine(2.9 V6) has lots of torque. I have had heavy loads in it and it has had no problem hauling them. Interior is great. The seats haven't worn out and the carpet is in great condition. I haven't had any problems with the manual transmission.

Review

I purchased it from my father in '93 and since then it's had some body blows but continued to run smooth and and quite. It now has 193,000 miles on it. The only continueing issue is its valve cover seals keep breaking.

Favorite Features

the insides can feel like a car but has the strenght to not wear out as easy.

Suggested Improvements

acceleration is not the best in take offs or climbing.

I've had the truck for 9 yrs - bought it used in '93. Have 150K miles. I've replaced RABS valve, fuel reg, P/S pump, water pump. A/C has leaked down, probably compressor seal. Overall, I like the truck. The engine is strong, and the truck does well off-road, although I did replace the auto-locking hubs with Warn manual hubs.

Favorite Features

Strong, dependable engine. Takes a lickin' and keeps on tickin'

Suggested Improvements

Auto trans silts up - have to change fluid a lot - at least 1/yr (hint to those of you who r&r'd trans - just try keeping it clean!!!). Also, brake rotors warp easily - I've had them turned several times.
