Purchased the V6 Convertible with Pony package, performance package, comfort group, cloth top & boot, and 5-speed. Sticker was $30,190. Final deal was $26,000. Test drove two GTs but settled on the V6 which got 29 miles to the gallon on the highway trip home. Dealer was Metro Ford on Rte 44 in Massachusetts. Rumor has it that incentives on Mustang are coming as sales are off since the start of 2007. Also, not all dealers sell below invoice, and once a sales man finds out he has the car you want, why should he sell it below invoice. With inventories as low as they are. Moronix, It doesn’t create an “artificial” anything! There is nothing “artificial” about it. It is REALITY and FACT! The entire history of Shelby’s has been a very limited number. In fact, the 2007 and 2008 Shelby’s will be the highest production ever on a Shelby Mustang. They are building about 18,000 of these over two years. That is a LOT more than all prior years ... Here is a heads up for anyone thinking about getting one of these or thinking about waiting to see if prices drop. Ford said they were going to build between 8k - 9k Shelby GT500 Mustangs for 2007. I have looked at a few, actually found a Ford dealer that is closing that will sell me a vista blue with GT package, 18" and a few other options at dealer invoice. I am a sales manager of a Ford Dealership and you would be a fool to give a deposit being 8th in line when they are only getting 2 and have seven people ahead of you.
