It *was* odd that the Fox bodies didn't have any pony decoration anywhere on them... My 2002 however is littered with ponies...they're everywhere it seems. I'd agree with fdthird about the 1994-1998s...it was about referencing Mustang heritage (in the rounded idiom of the day). The 1999-2004s did the same thing, but with "new edge" cues. The 2005 seems deliberately ... Read More...

Does anyone know if the 2004 GTO is DBW?

Does anyone know if the 2004 GTO uses "drive by wire" (DBW) technology, yet? I am sure GM will move to it someday. I just noticed that the new 2005 Mustang will be using DBW, yuck. Audi has been using DBW for several years now. Their throttle has a nasty habit of waiting 1-2 seconds, before actually applying the throttle, but only sometimes, usually, when the delay ... Hoping to Buy

Hi everyone. I am hoping to buy a new 2004 Mustang in the next few months. I have a Ford Focus and have been semi-pleased with it (except for all the re-calls that it has gone through). I'm wanting the full package...leather, moonroof, spoiler, etc. My question is what should I look out for when looking at Mustangs? We have a family friend that is a dealer at the local ... Allright we keep saying the same thing here so lets just stop. I never said Ford wouldn't find a way to move them off the lots. I was saying that they will have to discount the Mustang to keep selling them like they will want to. Meaning that once they are discounted, people WILL buy them, which is the exact same thing as what you people are saying. And yes all of those ... Read More...

EDIT: akirby beat me to the punch, but I'm goin' ahead anyway! : ) Nobody has suggested that Ford is not going to have to discount the remaining 2004 Mustangs. Rather, we have said that sales of the current gen. Mustang will continue, even in the face of the 2005 model. Sure they won't sell like hotcakes, but there will be sales... My point has been that there will be ... Read More...

the 05 mustang gt will not have irs.it will supposably go on sell in sept/oct 2004. expect the price to stay the same or rise only slightly. remember the mustangs market is an affordable sports car, raising the price would alienate the target audience. i would expect price increases about the same as the f150. from what i have heard the gt will get a 4.6 3v v8, with ... That's correct, if you go by model year. If you go by introduction date, which WAS a big deal with the Mustang, than it could be a 2004. I mean, this is just a car, you can play with the numbers without changing the course of world history :) Ford made the car, they can call it whatever they want whenever they want. Read More...

As rorr says, I think the Cobra in question is in fact the 2004. I believe the mystichrome paint job is part of the "40th Anniversary" package only for Cobras...GT and V6 versions will have lemans hood stripes. Never cared for the colorshifting paint myself, but I like stripes on pony cars... : ) However, I am a little dissapointed that Ford is choosing to commemorate ... Read More...
