Ford Mustang (2004 and earlier)
Re: resale [qbrozen]
disagree! There is a glut of 2004 (and prior) mustangs on dealer and rental lots because they have poor build quality, lack refinement, Fox-platform, and Ford had to fill the (fixed) plant to make money so they built too many of a car most people didn't want to buy (retail). Enter the 2005 Mustang, all new platform, refined fit-n-finish, 300-HP engine, ... Read More...
Ballpark...Mustang nut ?
You claim be be a Mustang nut. On page 24 of the 05 Ford Mustang brochure (c) 2004 it lists the options I mentioned and claims them to be GENUINE Ford. With that I rule that you can't award squat ! Again the Host will be pleased. :) Read More...
Justr a thought
Considering how the Mustang is gonna help save Ford, why do they persist in making the GT, a 150K car? The whole point of ford was to a car everyone can afford. Style is one of the hardes things to hit, guys let me ask you, imagine is where mustang left off (40K) you would have the Shelby GR-1 as say, a lincoln or Mercury model? for say 40K - 60K??? Wouldnt that, with such ... Read More...

dcls, good question...all the body parts I see these days are for the 1999+ Mustangs. Tried an ebay search? As for cleaning up the top, a good carwash solution has always worked for me. Use a soft brush too. That should do it. Darren, that price range sounds about right for a loaded V6 convertible with all the goodies (though I do note for 2004, Ford got rid of that odd ... Auto transmission
I bought a new 2004 V6 coupe in May. It has only 1200 miles on it and has developed a disturbing problem. When the car is driven, after sitting all night, or all day (cold engine), sometimes, but not every time, when the transmission makes the first shift from first to second, there is an audible "clunk" noise. The transmission never makes the noise again until the ... Read More...
Forgive me, I know this may be
off topic, but my own topic (Ford Crown Victoria)could never answer this question, but the sports-minded folks here at Mustang will have the answers...I just bought a 2004 Crown Vic, dual exhaust, floor shifter, (dare I say) "performance model" (I needed a good road car, and this fits the bill)...the car does not have a left foot "dead pedal", and the gas pedal ... KINKS? probably not
Hey guys if you are thinking about getting into the new mustang but the spector of first model year glitches is causing you to think twice then consider the 2004 F-150 launch. JD Powers just found that the Initial Quality of the 2004 F-150 not only exceeded the previous design, it was also second in its class after the Toyota Tundra. Trust me, ford learned its lesson ... Not PINTO
Don't you all think that the shortened Mustang 2 of early-mid 70's was closer to a Pinto? With the 05, it seems that Ford Company was trying to go back to the "classic" real Mustang fastback of eras 65-66, 67-68, 69-70. The show car that was prelude to the 05 was cleaner and truer to the classic. If McQueen were alive and not so old, he probably would have waited till ... Read More...
Timeless design
Perhaps the 65-69 Mustang fastback is a “timeless design” in that it has endured the test of time favorably. The 05 model is an evolution of that design. Consider all versions from 70 to 2004 as not of that lineage. Notice how the current Porsche 911 body has evolved year by year and is connected to the original 911 of the 1960s? Most people would say that the 911 is ... Read More...
