Ford Mustang (2005) vs. 2005 Pontiac GTO

old Mustang NOT classic [rorr]

"Been to many car shows featuring Cavaliers or GrandAms? " What does that have to do with Mustang vs Gto? I have been to many shows featuring the 2004 and 2005 GTO. Sorry, but it commands a lot more attention then you think. I have had just as many people coming up to me at the shows as the 2005 Stang owners.. "The point being - having style which evokes a classic is generally ... Read More...

Re: Honda to Ford.. [gxpgtodanman]

the 2005 gto is no sleeper. i wish it was a sleeper ! it's incredible how much attention the car gets - people shouting from other cars, parking lots, opposing traffic. i actually like the more-sleeper/2004 styling way better but it's worth it to get the LS2. i've got 1500 miles on the car, mostly highway.. in city traffic or parking lots at least 20 random people ... Re: Demographics [rorr]

rorr, you and your GM/racer/f-body/big-block pal make great points. i think you are right on. i am an old-time GM guy - i've owned 6 f-body cars over the last few decades - but my spine couldn't take the ride any more so i unloaded my final Z28 in 2004 and have not owned GM since then. GTO brought me back. i would have looked at c6 vette too if/once they were available for ... Read More...

Re: Striping [detailz]

That's the 2004 detroit auto show car paint scheme (was used on the Ford GT, Mustang GT prototype and Shelby Cobra Concept). I have the special edition autoart 1:18 scale model of that same car with that paint scheme and am planning to do the same thing when I get my mustang in another year or so. I don't think the racing stripes are available from the factory but they ... Read More...

Re: 2004 Ford Mustang GT [m1miata]

The new Malibu has electric steering and I didn't notice any problem. The car steered fine. I didn't even know that it had electric steering until I read the brochure later. The throttle by wire though on the Montego was a strange experience. Read More...

" drove a new Montego the other day. When you pushed down on the accelerator for a second the car felt like it was in neutral than started accelerating. The salesman said that it had been sitting and was cold. I walked and I'd recommend that you do the same. There are literally thousands of 2004's around with low mileage -under 10k - and this one sounds like a lemon to ... Read More...

Re: Question on Pricing the 2006 Mustang GT [graphicguy]

Thanks Graphic....I must say, you have been the most helpful person to me thru out this whole process I've been through the last 8 months, without your insight, I'd not have known what to ask, didn't know there was such a thing as priority codes when ordering, etc.... I've had my current GT for 10 years now so haven't had to dive into the auto buying process for a long ... Read More...

Re: Question on Pricing the 2006 Mustang GT [frnkrzzo]

Hate to tell you this, but no, I didn't wait to order for better pricing in Feb or March, nor was I one who in September saying only a fool would buy one then. I ordered mine in November of 2004...yes, 2004. And it's now July 7th and I still have no Mustang GT. That is my gripe. I got about $1800 under MSRP on the pricing as I was the first person at that particular dealership ... Read More...

Re: 2004 Ford Mustang GT [dispencer1]

There are some cars you have to get to a certain rpm before they accelerate, really wierd sensation, even dangerous IMHO. Read More...
