I have a knocking noise that can be heard easily at an idle. I took it in to the Ford dealer and they said it was coming from the heads (44,000 miles). They did all of the head work completely ($5000 on their bill:) and it still has the same noise. The check engine light came on my 2001 mustang with the v6. The code is showing the intake air temperature sensor is indicating a high temperature. I have looked for the sensor on the air intake, but cannot find one. I have looked in the chilton repair manuals and it shows the sensor on the intake between the filter and the manifold. I never understood the tan striping...a very odd choice at the time, given how Ford was really ramping up the retro at that point. Red stripes would have been a good-looking choice for white Mustangs only... I actually put those rocker panel stripes on my '02...white for me, as my car is dark blue. I need your worthy advice. I want to buy an entry level Mustang in the pre-2005 body style and have two cars I'm considering. They are identical white/tan V6 Auto's and are both at $7k. BLA BLA, you need a super charger to get that power,from that GT, in fact so does the cobra and saleen, the ls1 & ls2 engines just needs some TLC and will blow the doors off any Mustang, saleen,cobra. in some cases without The Mods.if imagine if the C5 or C6 was supercharged!! my god. its just fact, i own a 2001 zo6 and never been taken by any Mustang old or new and its pushing ... FYI - Ford and SVT produced less than 27k Mustang Cobras in the 4 model years 2001 thru 2004 (thats less than 6700 units per year). So I guess these cars were also "Limited Production". I have owned my 2005 Mustang GT for 11 months, and evertime I drive it I have a smile, this is the best car ford ever built. I was at the Ford dealer today getting my Mustang serviced ( I own a beautiful 2001 GT) and I asked the salesman about all the problems that the new 05 and 06 Mustangs have. I am surprised that the 05 & 06 Mustangs all have vibrations. I own a 2001 Mustang GT and a 2002 V6 Mustang and I never had any vibration problems. Ford needs to get the bugs out of the new Mustang. It's been over 2 years now since the new 05 body style came out and Ford STILL hasn't worked out the bugs on these cars. I would never buy a 05 & an 06 Mustang with all these problems ... Read More...
