Review

With a few easy modifications adding up to 335 hp and 3:7:3 gears, this GT is the fastest, quickest fun ride I have ever owned! There's nothing better than feeling the wind in my hair while rocking out to my favorite tunes in this reliable rockship on a perfect spring/summer day or evening!

Easy to improve the performance! Fast & quick with a great stereo!

Suggested Improvements

...more interior room for us "big boys."

i've driven this mustang for 3 years, have had a couple accidents of driver error not because of any default of the car.

Favorite Features

I think in my opinion there is two features that stand out on this mustang one would be the Mach 460 Stereo and the 4.6 V8 Motor

Suggested Improvements

If I could change anything I would make the shaker hold operational to help cool the motor and keep it preforming at top performance

could use a few more horsepower, but overall a cool, fun to drive little car..any help on modifications would be greatly appreciated

I love my Cobra. I treat it bad like it deserves and still nothing has gone wrong except for some bald tires.

I've had no major problems with the car that weren't a result of my own modifications. In factory trim the car is great and everytime I've been to the dealership for service I've been treated well. The Cobra is a product of SVT, almost a company to itself within Ford, and being so your treated differently than a normal vehicle owner at the dealership, SVT has specially trained mechanics at all authorized SVT dealers and if the vehicle is to be kept for a few days you automatically get a free rental.

Favorite Features

The power. In stock trim it has a lot of grunt, mine being modified has a lot more.

What can I say.. Ford finally made the no-frills GT we've always wanted. The emphasis is on under-stated looks, torque and exclusiveity. Spend 5 grand on a supercharger and you've got yourself the ultimate sleeper. Vette owners beware...

Favorite Features

Exahaust note, SVO Intake, red brake calipers.

Suggested Improvements

With the exhast and intake mods, I think even Ford was a little disapointed that it made only 15 more horses than the stock GT. That said, the torque is signficantly more stout than the GT and there is an obvious seat-of-the-pants difference between the two.

Love the RWD and V-8 power. Don't get the V-6. I like the firm leather seats. Headroom is poor, but expected in a Mustang. Averaged 18-20 MPG over last two years on mixed HWY/city use. Good sound system in the GT. No major problems with the car in the first 36K miles other than the CD player jamming discs. Dealer fixed w/ no problems.

260 HP, 6-CD sound system, leather

Suggested Improvements

Lose the hood scoupe, it decreases visibility and doesn't look that great.

2 words....Adrenaline Rush. This is the most fun car I have ever driven. A combination of class and power.

Favorite Features

Speed sensitive steering/suspension. Ability to turn traction control off. Suede/Leather seats w/ the Cobra emblem embroidered and the 6 CD changer in dash.

Suggested Improvements

Car should come stock with a stainless steel exhaust. Early cobras had that feature.

One Fun Car

Review

We bought the car new and 8 hours later, I had my first speeding ticket. What a fun car to drive...with a radar detector. Interior fit and finish is lacking and the convertible top allows any and all outside noise to enter, but that's where the Mach stero system shines. It drowns out all the outside noise while you put the car through it's paces. The V8 provides plenty of zip. We had a 6 cylinder version of the 1996 Mustang for 4 years and it struggled to get out of it's own way. In my opinion, the 6 cylinder version of this car is a big waste of your money. Be sure to include an extra $250 for a good radar detector.

Favorite Features

By far this car shines with the top down on a sunny day and the stereo turned way up.

Better interior fittings.
