Re: 05 Convertible Top Problem [akirby]
The TSB was dated November '05 and I bought my car in December '05. I should have been informed that there was a problem with the tops. I don't think that you would want to be sold a pacemaker with known problems. The repairs will cost 1/10 th of the price of the car new and 1/3 of the value of the car now. That is a significant defect. You are certainly entitled to your opinion ... Read More...
Re: 2000 V6 Ford Mustang [seadogg330]
The problem with mine was the modulator, that is the black box that the plug wires go into. I replaced that and haven't had a problem since. Hope this is all that is wrong with yours, but with the spitting and spuddering it could be the fuel pump. Not sure. Hope this helps. Read More...
Re: 2000 V6 Ford Mustang [timkellygpi]
I've just read your message and I wonder if you were able to solve this problem. I bought a 2000 V6 Mustang brand new, a present for my daughter's high school graduation. She now works at some firm here in San Diego. Wednesday She drove it to work and parked at a parking garage....in the afternoon the thing won't start. The engine turns over but no start, got it towed ... Read More...
2000 V6 Ford Mustang
I drove it on Saturday and Sunday and everything was fine. Did not drive on Monday. Got up to go to work this morning (Tuesday) and it would turn over but would not start. I checked the fuel shut off switch and everything there is ok. Any suggestions as to what is wrong would be appreciated. Read More...
Squealing noise
Ok I have a 2000 ford mustang 3.8L, and for about 3 days now my car has been making a horrible noise like a belt squealing. so i did the WD40 thing, belt dressing, soap thing, even changed my water pump, and the idler pully, the only other noise could be the alternator, or the tensioner pulley right. now that i have changed all of the other stuff, it still makes the noise, ... Re: Looking at Buying a 2000 Mustang [woody20]
Well I can tell you this , a friend of mine had 1 that had 386,00 miles on it before the head gasket blow . I told her it would be worth it to replace the head gasket with that many miles on it . She had the car since it was new ,and never had to replace it . I told her to buy a used motor and ill put it in. She did , and has been driving on that motor fore over 2 years and still doesnt ... Re: 1983 ford mustang [wowzerz]
On a car of that age, it is really hard to say w/o seeing it. Pluses: Vert Minus: 1983 and a V-6 If the paint still "pops" and the interior is clean, you might get $2000. Otherwise, less. Maybe $2500 tops, but I would not be surprised if it got $1500. As a comparison....a super-clean 91 GT Vert with lower miles might get $8k. Anyone else have any thoughts? Read More...
Re: comments on 1999 Mustang coupe @$2000? [balthazarw]
$2000 is REALLY cheap even for a 100,000 mile V-6 car. Makes we wonder a bit on the condition it is in. Naturally, everyone has their own price point and if he is young, may not have much of a budget. It also depends on the intended purpose. If he is looking to biuld a tack car or a drag car in the future, then high-milage sixers are a GREAT platform in part because they can ... Read More...

From Thursday Jan 4th to Monday the 8th my wife and myself drove our GT 500 from Ky to Ocala, Fl and return. Went to the Natonal Parts Depot Ford Roundup at Silver Springs. Great show! Almost 2000 Fords of every make and kind. There were 11 GT 500's including mine. We put a little over 2000 miles on our car in the 5 day trip. some two lane but mostly interstate at 75 to 80 ...
