1999 Ford Mustang 2dr Coupe

Review

This has been the highest quality car I have ever owned - it has a nice, solid one-piece feel to it, handles well, and is fun and comfortable to drive. As I currently drive about 32 miles each way to work, I appreciate the comfort and performance from the 3.8 liter six cylinder engine, which puts out 190 hp for this year.

Best Features

The look and feel of the car is great! It feels so much more solid than my other cars, and the steering has a nice "weight" to it when you turn the wheel.

Worst Features

It would be so nice if older people had just an inch or two more to swing their legs into the front seat - I have an aunt who can't bend her knee. It is tough to get her in the front seat. Gas mileage should be higher; I get about 23 or so mixed driving to work - my old Dart got that good 35 years ago!

Review

Bang for the buck, you can't beat a
Mustang when it comes to performance.
Beautiful car, powerful, fun in the
straights and the corners, and almost
100,000 miles without a major problem.
Who says American cars are low quality?

Best Features

Chirping 1st second and thrid gears! 50-foot burnouts!

Worst Features

more power, deeper bucket seats, more front leg room.

Review

I got the car in 99 just out of high
school and have driven it for 140000
miles without a single hickup just
change the oil every 3000 miles and the
thing will run great. It's still even
on the same clutch.

Best Features

My favorite thing on this ccar is the mach stereo if you like music you have to have this system.

Worst Features

Just a bit more power, I guess i cant complain though because it still was faster than most hondas.

Review

bought used with 7400 miles in like new
condition. now have 58000 and it has
never cost a dime in maintenance except
for routine oil & filter changes.
brakes & steering very good. heater &
air very good. ride comfort is awful.
5 speed sloppy & difficult to shift
into first when at full stop. difficult
to enter & exit. shoulder belt height
is non-adjustable and constantly pulls
out of seat back plastic loop. all in
all an inexpensive car to own and has
great looks with Cobra style wheels &
tires. Poor traction with this tire
package when streets are wet however.

Best Features

four wheel disc brakes, premium sound system, the dash.

Worst Features

doors are too long for compact size parking spaces so it's hard to wiggle in & out of the car when you can't get the door open very far. The seat belts are terrible (non-adjustable) and so is the ride. make the cup holders so that you can actually use them with a stick shifter.

1999 Ford Mustang 2dr Coupe

Review

The Mustang is a great deal, reliable, full of
character, fun to drive, and even sensible.
Civic, Celica and so on don't compare as a whole
package. The 99+ V6 is a bargain in every respect.
Trunk space is good compared to most small cars,
and fold through rear seats are really convenient.
Kids enjoy the rear seat. They don't need an SUV!
Adults can fit uncomfortably in the back, but who
cares about them? This car is about you, the driver.
The manual makes the car alive and gears are
flexible through hills. Highway mileage is great for
a car like this (27 or
so) but city drops pretty quickly to around 20. For
what this car costs, buy one and some snow tires!

Best Features

Performs better than 95% of the cars on the road, Costs as much as the same year econobox from Honda etc, Driver and front passenger comfort is tops, Great looks, great reliability.

Worst Features

The cupholder sucks...... the seatbelts are a little annoying if they fall out of the clips on the seat. The CD/Tape radio is great, but having the cd player behind the gear shifter is awkward It should have a MP3/cd unit on top and use the space below as a tray for an Ipod or cell phone
