I want to install just a basic keyless entry system on my 1996 Mustang GT Boss. Do I have to get the immobilizer bypass? Just to install the keyless entry. I know I would need it for the remote start but im not interested in that just the keyless entry. I called a ford guy and he said he just wires it up without the bypass. He just uses the bypass ... I'm starting to get cheesed off at my dealership who can't reproduce the problem described in title. I brought my wife to the dealership this morning to demonstrate to the service rep, and he turned me away claimming that I have to talk to the manager first. ?? faded factory paint

I am the third owner of a 1996 Ford Mustang GT. The original factory red paint is dull and faded. I have looked into getting it repainted and have been told by the detailer that they have never seen this happen before. Does anyone know if there was any sort of recall or have any advice?

tayl0rd, I have owned 3 mustangs to date, and let me tell you... the new 05 body style is just a touring car. no longer a sports car. Lets be subjective here, the Impala SS did not have rickety build or squeak and rattle down the road as you claim. Build quality was just as good as 1994 to 1996 Ford Full sized cars! Many police were annoyed when they had to go the Crown Vic squad car, slower and less performance then their Caprices... 260hp vs 210hp, big dif. I think Ford briefly did through 1996 (not sure about the date though). It was called the "GTS" model; basically base trim with the V8 and other performance goodies. Cool stuff. NSORIC, that's a great article; I'd never seen it. My comments on the Mustang were purely my guess... : )

The following cars have had the '96 & up models equipped with 4.6 motors recalled for the intake problem... Ford Thunderbird Mercury Cougar Ford Mustang Ford Crown Victoria, Police & fleet models only Lincoln Town Car, fleet models only.
