I have a 1996 ford mustang manual transmission making funny noises can anyone help me
1996 3.8 V6 Ford Mustang transmission slipping. I have a 1996 3.8 V6 automatic Mustang with somewhere around 150,000 miles on it. Today it was 8 deg outside and I started the car and headed down the road. Well it started searching for gears and would shift up and down the spectrum. Then it would kick out of gear or slip (not sure) then start searching for gears again. I never ... Read More
I want to install just a basic keyless entry system on my 1996 Mustang GT Boss. Do I have to get the immobilizer bypass? Just to install the keyless entry. I know I would need it for the remote start but im not interested in that just the keyless entry. I called a ford guy and he said he just wires it up without the bypass. He just uses the bypass ... I'm starting to get cheesed off at my dealership who can't reproduce the problem described in title. I brought my wife to the dealership this morning to demonstrate to the service rep, and he turned me away claimming that I have to talk to the manager first. ?? I called the manager twice today..seems he's out today. Why do I need the manager to see the problem..wouldn't it be enough to ... Read More
I am the third owner of a 1996 Ford Mustang GT. The original factory red paint is dull and faded. I have looked into getting it repainted and have been told by the detailer that they have never seen this happen before. Does anyone know if there was any sort of recall or have any advice?
I know this is not what you are asking, but it is relevant. 1968 bought 1966 '66 6cyl convert for $3600 w/11k miles. sold in 1971 for $3500. 1972 bought new Convert (Q code) for $4,000: still have it; appraised $34,000. 1989 Convert 5L 5spd bought 1990 $9,000 (21k miles)sold 1996 (125k miles)for $7,000 to a friend who still has it. 1983 Convert 6cyl Pd $1,000 March '06 (133k Miles)sold Aug ... tayl0rd, I have owned 3 mustangs to date, and let me tell you... the new 05 body style is just a touring car. no longer a sports car. The three mustangs i have owned: 1) 1996 cobra 2) 2004 mach1 3) 2005 GT of these cars, these are my thoughts... the cobras are faster not to mention handle better than the mach1's, but ONLY if you put serious money into them, ... Hey to Graphic guy out there, I haven't posted for awhile...thought I'd pop in and say...I'm still waiting....ordered my 05 Mustang GT in November 2004........never came.....by June of 2005, decided to hang up the idea of getting my 2005, so went back to the dealer and put in an order for a 2006, as shut down was to take place in July...what the heck, I'm not getting my 2005. Heard production ... Read More
Lets be subjective here, the Impala SS did not have rickety build or squeak and rattle down the road as you claim. Build quality was just as good as 1994 to 1996 Ford Full sized cars! Many police were annoyed when they had to go the Crown Vic squad car, slower and less performance then their Caprices... 260hp vs 210hp, big dif. Impala was cancelled to make more production for trucks ... Read More
Hate to tell you this, but no, I didn't wait to order for better pricing in Feb or March, nor was I one who in September saying only a fool would buy one then. I ordered mine in November of 2004...yes, 2004. And it's now July 7th and I still have no Mustang GT. That is my gripe. I got about $1800 under MSRP on the pricing as I was the ... Read More
:D I had a Mustang GT back in 1996 with side pipes and quite a beauty. I had to part with it later due to situations. For all these years I wanted another and when the new 2005 came out and as soon as I saw the new look, I started looking around. I wanted a GT but of course that was hard to find so after 5 good hours of ... Read More
Hey, thanks much for that article, it helped confirm my dilemma...I ordered my Premium Mustang GT in November 2004....6 months ago! My phone call to Ford customer service last week gave me news that they are short on the V8 engine, and one of the questions I was asked was did I order the "My Color" option? Which yes, of course I did. They told me that Ford never expected to ... Read More
I think Ford briefly did through 1996 (not sure about the date though). It was called the "GTS" model; basically base trim with the V8 and other performance goodies. Cool stuff. NSORIC, that's a great article; I'd never seen it. My comments on the Mustang were purely my guess... : )
