I posted on here about an electrical issue I was having with my 2005 Mustang GT. I had changed the alternator 4 times 2 ourselves and two by a automotive shop. Each alternator was bought from a large chain dealer. We found out,finally, that the alternator we were buying were not compatable with the card. Interestingly, the Mustang has faced this dilemma before, and its history provides examples of both when it worked and when it didn't. Consider the leap from the retro design of the Mustang II (an attempt to get back to the proportions and style of the orignal 1964 1/2 car) to the Euro-futurism of the Fox body. I would say the Altima and Impala have a touch of retro to them. At least, the 2005 Impala did, not so much the '06. In its purest form, "retro" simply means a fashion reminiscent of the past. Lets be subjective here, the Impala SS did not have rickety build or squeak and rattle down the road as you claim. Build quality was just as good as 1994 to 1996 Ford Full sized cars! Many police were annoyed when they had to go the Crown Vic squad car, slower and less performance then their Caprices... 260hp vs 210hp, big dif. Impala was cancelled to make more production ... 1999s-2004s are where it's at for me. I think they're a great combination of current styling (well, at the time anyway) and heritage cues. Taillights, fake-scoop-o-rama and the door styling all evoke Mustangs of old, but without being overly and obviously retro. Also has a certain (to me anyway) muscle-car, "gimme your lunch money!" look to it that I enjoy. ... Read More...

Gas neck problems??? Other cars have had this fate, and for the life of me, I can not understand how they can spend billions in engineering depts. and screw up something so simple. Too small a hole? Perhaps they thought it was to be a diesel car ;-)) Gas mileage should improve over time. The 25MPG for the automatic is not so good considering gas prices these days. The ... Read More...
