Where do you get your facts, man? That infamous memo has been falsely represented. A 1991 Rutgers Law Review article showed that the memo did not pertain to Pintos or even to Ford products. Speaking of sales. The 1989 Fox Body Mustang sold nearly 200k cars too. Same as this 2005. However by 1991, Mustang sales DECLINDED to 85k. Ford almost replaced the Mustang with a new Front Drive Car. You could get the higher performance rear-gear ratios on the LX too. I had a 1991 LX 5.0L 5sp coupe with the optional 3.08 rear gear (The fastest version of a Mustang you could buy from Ford in 1991). The LX 5.0L coupe was the lightest weight 5.0L, around 2800 lbs.
