More fun than imagined...
Vehicle
2005 Ford GT 2dr Coupe (5.4L 8cyl S/C 6M)
Review
An absolutely awesome example of beautiful kinetic sculpture. More fun than I ever imagined it would be to drive. Better than 10% improved performance on the Bondurant High Performance Driving School autocross times than their Corvette Z06. Baggage capacity stinks but works for the overnight trip.
Favorite Features
1-g lateral force seems to defy physics. Engine just wants to make the car leap forward. Handling is incredible.
Suggested Improvements
A few storage containers in the doors or dash would help. The rattles and vibrations shouldn't exist. Paint was pretty Ford standard.

The Real Deal

I am blessed enough to have both an 06 Z-06 Corvette and a Ford GT in my fleet this year. The two cars are very similar in performance numbers. The way I separate them is I consider the Ford GT the "Indy Car". Sharing the same mid engine platform and the same rear transaxle as the Indy race cars, the GT performs & handles like an Indy Car. At a top speed of over 200 MPH, 0 to 60 in less than 3.5 seconds and the best high speed handling of any car I have ever driven (once the tires are warm), it is an Indy Car for the street. My Z-06, with 505 HP, is my Nascar. Front engine rear wheel drive performance that matches the GT, but with a little less high speed confidence. Love em both!
Favorite Features
Speed. Fast, handles great after the tires warm up. Incredible stereo, incredible car. Sounds like the Batmobile with the supercharger whining less than 6 inches from your ear. My friends tell me it's a lot of fun to follow me around as the car sounds great and lights up the tires with every shift.
Suggested Improvements
This car has no electronic stability controls like an F350 or Z06. A lot of people are going to crash this car by spinning the rear wheels, especially when the tires are cold.

Best money I ever spent

Anyone considering buying this car should shop extensively for the best price since some dealers are still trying to get a premium over MSRP. There are dealers who will sell at or below MSRP now. But whatever the price, don't let it keep you from buying the most fun vehicle you will ever own. The power is phenomenal, everyday driveability is wonderful and the WOW factor is unbeatable! If it has any shortcomings, they are more than compensated for in the pride and joy of ownership.
Favorite Features
Power, handling, looks (draws a crowd everywhere it goes).
Suggested Improvements
Louder muffler and a long enough road to find that 212 mph top end!

Awesome power. Tight handling, stiff suspension. Always draws comments and onlookers. Very comfortable driving position. Minimal storage space, no spare tire.
Favorite Features
Design, red color and racing stripe.
Suggested Improvements
A little more padding in seats for long trips and more inside storage space.
I'm still pinching myself!

This car is truly the most fun! The performance is breathtaking, the quality is wonderful, and I luv my car. I have raced both asphalt and dirt ovals for years (including 360 sprints), and am truly impressed with this vehicle's handling and performance. I appreciate the no frills cockpit. It's all business. I have about 1200 miles so far, and keep looking for excuses to go to the store for milk.

A little more sound deadening (for road noise) would be nice.

This car will keep you at the edge of your seat with the awesome interior design and V-8 engine pushing more than 500 horsepower. A true work of art.

The car, the engine, the power, the force; it's just an unbelievable car.

I have only driven 181 miles so far. This car is the best driving experience of my life! I have been very fortunate, having driven several "supercars", and this one is THE BEST overall experience to date. Quickest, fastest, best handling and, BY FAR, the friendliest "monster" I have driven.
Favorite Features
FORD oval on the front! THE DRIVING EXPERIENCE!

I agree with another post that a reverse camera would be a welcome addition. Hate to have the extra weight though ;)

I haven't had enough time behind the wheel to know all the car's quirks yet but I can tell you it is truly a rocket. Not quite as refined as a Ferrari or Porsche, it is a race-car with a few amenities. Track days are coming up soon so I will be able to give a better idea of the over-all vehicle. To anybody who got whip-lash trying to get a better look at the car, I'm not sorry.

Classic look, doors (gotta love em, gotta hate em).

While this car is no doubt a monster under the hood, I'm left feeling that it doesn't quite have the build quality and interior amenities that is found in similar German and Italian competitors. I also think that from a strict performance standpoint the new 2006 corvette with its 7.0L of displacement will run with this car at about half the price. That being said it will turn heads and I'm certain it will be a collectors automobile.
Favorite Features
Excellent handling, acceleration, unique retro design.
Suggested Improvements
Better interior, better price to performance ratio.

I love this car with a passion. I am disappointed in your 52% resale estimate. Since this awesome car was just introduced, how can you accurately forecast its value in 5 years ?
