2013 Ford Fusion SE 4dr Sedan (2.5L 4cyl 6A)
I purchased the SE model but with the optional 2.0L Ecoboost. I was looking for performance and was not disappointed as it's on par with the 250HP V6 vehicle it replaced. Front end styling was the most appealing factor - a pleasant departure from everything else on the market. I purposely avoided the Titanium model. I did not want a ridiculous spoiler on the trunk lid and feel it's loaded with too much non-required tech. The Fusion handles well and has excellent braking. The interior is quiet and comfortable although the seats are exceptionally firm.
The factory stereo integrated with MFT is above average but Ford's decision to skip over HD Radio is unforgivable. It's Sirrus capable but I have no intention of paying for broadcast - sorry Ford. This has become a real blemish on the entire purchase. The speedo is the only real gauge in the car - too bad it is only complemented with virtual gauges projected on one of two flanking screens. The Tach is traditionally round but very small. The Fuel and Temp are similar to edge panel meters but as laid out on the screen none of these gauges appear to be in the same family. Give me real gauges and skip the computer generated junk. I don't care for the touch buttons as well - unreliable.
The trunk decklid is a major fail. The exterior appearance is well below the front end style. It does not open far enough - it's in your face trying to load groceries and as it holds the rear license plate with nothing more than plastic wall anchors, when closing it screams CHEEZY. It has the feel of falling off the car. The car comes with a switchblade type key fob. When inserted in the ignition (which is poorly located for access) it remains a rigid projection. I can see this getting kneed and breaking off
resulting in an expen$ive repair. The headliner is a pleasant departure from that gray mohair. A texture material but under the right lighting conditions WRINKLED & WAVY ! Not perfected
I agree with the power and performance of the 2.0. You know you could order the Titanium with the spoiler delete option.
The technology you passed up is way cool and useful with the navigation system being excellent and the push button start is very handy.
The screens on the next to the speedometer aren't super useful but I do get used to looking for info there so I'll hold my judgement on that.
