2006 Ford Freestyle SEL 4dr Wagon (3.0L 6cyl CVT)

Review

I currently have 3 Fords (Mustang, Taurus and new FS) and a Sebring. Traded my Tahoe to get better seating for 6-7, lower step-in height for my in-laws and better MPG. The CVT trans take a lot of getting used to. The seats are comfortable, but the interior fabric is poor (snags and stains easily). Interior design is modern and nicely done. Front middle vents do not shut off. Daytime running lights not offered. Nice all-around car for hauling the kids/grandkids, but need more power and a 6 speed auto transmission (like the Ford 500) - without giving up any gas mileage.

Best Features

7 passenger seating, although the car is very sluggish fully loaded. Good, not great MPG -- getting 18-19 city and 25-26 hwy with FWD. Rear seats flip down easily and the interior holds as much as my Tahoe did.

Worst Features

Needs better fabric (don't like leather), like the Ford 500 fabric. The beige interior is too light in color, especially the carpet -- shows every stain. Dog toenails snag the seat fabric. Middle seat should be fore-aft adjustable on all models. Rear seat should be made adjustable. Should offer 6 speed AT.
